Leander Salamander

Leander Salamander lived among the rocks that surrounded a small pond. He had made a cozy home of grass and mud under the rocks and had a pleasant life. He thought that something was missing in his life, but he didn’t know what it was. He had good friends, Sammy Snake and Myrtle Turtle, so he was never lonely. He buried himself deep in the mud under his nest during the winter months and waited there for the warming rays of sun to announce that spring had arrived.

Jean Edwards

Jean Edwards was born and grew up in rural Maine. She married a career Navy man and during his tours of duty they raised four children. Their travels included six crossings of the United States by auto. She draws her stories from her experiences with the places and people she encountered. She enjoys writing poetry, novels and children’s fiction. She has published seven historical novels, several books of poetry and multiple children’s books.
