The Little Book of Horses - Goose Punk

    CHAPTER 1

H ORSES EAT, 2 wedges of hay twice a day, & a half a pail of oats once a day. A pail of oats is a 5 gallon bucket. Horses love their oats, but they can have too much. So, only half a pail once a day. Unless you are feeding them in small piles. Then you can give them oats twice a day. Usually, you feed them in piles when they’re in a pasture, or a large paddock, & there’s groups of 5 or more in the same paddock.

Horses can live to 25 or 30 sometimes. Mares get old & their backs sag in the middle like somebody sat on them & bent their spine down. Stallions get more & more fit throughout the years, & more wild. They are always calling to the mares if they can see them from their paddock.

Horses love to graze. It’s best to rotate them from pasture to pasture. As they eat the grass down, it grows in another pasture. As long as you keep an empty pasture for the grass to grow up, you can let them graze another pasture down & then move them. In this situation, you would give them piles of oats daily, in a pasture. You would let them graze the grass, & eat oats twice a day, but no hay. No hay while they’re grazing.

    CHAPTER 2

C LEANING HORS ES STALLS is about an hour job. See, you bed down a horses stall with straw. Then they poop, & pee in the straw while they’re kept in the stall. Usually horses stay in a stall over night, & go out to a paddock during the day. So, then you clean the stall during the day while the horse is out in the paddock.

Depending on how dirty the stall is when you get there. You either completely remove all the straw, & replace it with new, or just lift out the piles of horse manure with your pitchfork. You pile on what you remove onto a wheel barrow,
