    INTRODUCTION

To go from broken to blessed, God must terminate your selfish and arrogant ways. You must become humble to his leading. Life lessons teach you to be transparent and open minded. It does not matter how many degrees you earn; it’s about how you have helped build the kingdom of God. If your power doesn’t equal to your purpose, then God isn’t put first. He is omnipresent. Although relationships can leave you feeling brokenhearted, there is a purpose in your pain.

Perhaps you may find yourself needing a reprieve from life’s obstacles and suicidal thoughts. Don’t be dismayed when your burdens are heavy. Rest assured that you have joy in knowing you can take them to God. Understand you must submit all your ways to him, and learn to be the voice people need to hear. You shouldn’t lie dormant or stagnant in your purpose; remember, someone is barely hanging on for your story to be told. The residual pain felt from the emotional, physical, and spiritual abuse has to be released. It may have caused a life of promiscuousness, heartache, and brokenness, but get up and release that pain. Come up with some new cogitations.

The misconception of having a fairy-tale marriage left me in a state of rejection, abandonment, and hurt. The heavy burden that I carried within me for many years had finally been unleashed. Life had not had the typical beauty I had imagined or envisioned; as a matter of fact, life had taken a downward turn. As a result, trust issues were created, leaving me to fear the world. Through it all, God did not give me the spirit of fear but of power, love, and a sound mind.

This book has been written to heal the shattered places of your heart and to help you through the adversities of life. What has transpired from the difficulties that life brought me has made it easier to help other people now. When you face trials and tribulations, try to put away devious doings. Remember to thank God daily for his grace and mercy. Then ask for your iniquities to be forgiven, and pray with a clean heart. Life has been given to me in a different perspective from what I have once dreamed. But through my brokenness, I have been able to overcome many situations thrown my way. Revelation 12:11 states, We overcome our enemy by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of our testimony. Realize that whatever you face, you are never alone. Look past all your faults. You are fearfully and wonderfully made, designed and created by God. Finally, return to your faith, and believe that you have been put on this earth for a purpose.

    THE ULTIMATE OPPORTUNITY

Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things will be provided for you.

    —Matthew 6:33 (NIV)

If you were given the ultimate opportunity to redo something in your life, what would that ultimate moment be? For me, it would perhaps be to listen to my parents and use the wisdom they instilled on me. Growing up, for the most part, was good because—unlike most people around me—I lived with both of my parents. Sometimes looking back over things that happened in my lifetime helped me reach and strive for greater things in life.

Have you ever considered what it will take to achieve the life God has intended for you or me? Perhaps you are dreaming of owning a restaurant or business, but your dream hasn’t manifested. Perhaps you dream of writing the next sequel to Scandal. Okay, maybe that is a writer’s dream, but you get the picture. Where in life do you see yourself? Do you remember your senior year of high school when you were planning for graduation and the next steps in the thing called life? You went to college right out of high school, but maybe you did not finish. You planned to go back, but the opportunity never came back around.

Well, let me be the first to tell you that it took many years before I even figured out how to take on a godly perspective in life. I knew of God, but I didn’t know God. Life was my greatest teacher. For instance, it taught me that my pain was the purpose to an ultimate opportunity. However, life took an unexpected turn, and it led me to a cycle of promiscuousness.

At a very young age, my body parts had not remained my own. I was lured into a back bedroom by a relative and became his sexual doll. Before I knew what happened, the trusted family member took my innocence. Each time we were in each other’s presence, the touching of my breast and private area would leave me feeling as if … Being molested by a family member was the hardest thing to overcome. Not knowing any better, I began to look for love in all
