About this ebook

In order to accomplish anything, a plan must be developed to bring it to pass. In order for the plan to be developed, the designer must see a picture of the finished product in his mind. When God created man, he had a perfect plan in mind for each individual he created. In order for us to become that picture in our lives today, we need be able to see ourselves as God sees us. By seeing ourselves as God sees us, we can begin to see ourselves as we really are. Dionne L. Crittendon

Dionne Crittendon has always been a truth seeker. She began her journey for the truth about the reality of the human spiritual existence at the age of twelve. Through the years, she has come to realize that truth is not relative as is the common belief by many today. She has found that there is a source of ultimate truth, and seeks to share that insight in a concise and lighthearted manner with those who are sincerely seeking the truth about how they are seen by the ultimate source of truth - God.

    DEDICATION

This book is dedicated to all of those people in my life who have helped me to see myself as God sees me…

To my mother, Bessie Elizabeth Crittendon, who showed me through a loving life example how precious I am in God’s sight, because she held me as precious in her sight. Who by loving, supporting, encouraging, and believing in me, helped me to believe the best is attainable for even me. Whose life of love and sacrifice for others patterned the life of giving, sowing, and reaping. Who continued to hold my hand and teach me, as only a mother could do, as I learned to depend on my heavenly father in all things.

To my daddy, Forrest Gene Crittendon, who loved me by teaching me about life and God the best way he knew how. Who, by living his life in faith and without complaint, showed me what courage and a firm belief in God can do in a person’s life. Who I know is in the cloud of witnesses cheering me on to meet him when this race is done.

Most of all, to the Holy one (my God, his son and my savior Jesus the Christ, and the Holy Spirit), for your unspeakable gifts of life, love, salvation and redemption, peace, joy, grace, mercy, favor and provision throughout my life; for making me a blessing, for making me so fearfully and wonderfully, and continuing to transform me into who and what you want me to be. Thank you for your Word, which you sent and healed me and made me whole. Thank you for the privilege of being a writer, as you are.

    ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

I thank my two sisters and best friends Monique Crittendon and LaValda Roddy, my brother-in-law Elroyce Roddy, my nieces and nephews LaChondra Roddy, Christopher Nolley, Terrance Roddy, Nicholas Draper, Tiffany Draper, and LaMesha Roddy; my great nephews Jaydon Roddy, Kaylon Roddy, Ashton Page, and Camron Page; and the rest of my family for being the best family God could have given me. You have given me so much love, joy, and pleasure in life, and taught me so much, that I am at a loss for words to truly express the depth of my love for you.

I thank those who have pastored me: Pastor Julius Harris of the Point of Light Family Church of Cedar Hill Texas, and my first pastor the late Reverend Johnny R. Allen of the Allen Chapel Baptist Church of Dallas, Texas. You have each blessed me through your love and spiritual guidance. You have taught me about God and how to live the new life he has given me, and for that I am truly grateful.

I thank all those who have ever taught me anything, whether in love or not, because it has all contributed to the life and lessons I have experienced in this earth-bound phase of my life. You are all a part of God’s awesome plan for my life - thank you for playing your parts so well.

    INTRODUCTION

There are millions of people today who feel lost and unsure of just who they are in the world. This identity confusion can be caused by a variety of different situations in life. The causes might include such things as a divorce (especially as experienced during childhood), abandonment by one or both parents (or any person who has played a significant role in their life), lack of meaningful friendships, a job loss, experiencing childhood bullying (or even adult bullying - as often happens in the workplace today), alienation from
