INTRODUCTION
There are many companies, schools, families, churches, social clubs, and even governments that are practicing what I’d like to call human kindness
. Many do it purposefully, and many do it unawares or naturally it seems. But the fact that they do it at all is remarkable. What I mean by human kindness is the attitude by which a unit takes into account an individual’s whole needs, and accommodates those needs by means of a group effort of outsiders who are concerned. And by this outpouring
of benevolence, one may say, there is a hope that a spark of thanksgiving and a change of heart would occur within the person who is on the receptive end of the charity; thus, creating a kind of loyalty to the cause and/or the organization that gives the charity within the individual.
And although I have benefitted from this type of benevolence
in the past, I would like to make known that this book is the result of an inspirational moment one morning on the back porch of my brother and sister-in-law’s home in Florida, where I stayed back in 2012 trying to address a Self- Worth problem that got completely out of control. When I received this enlightenment
from above, it came at a dark period of my life when suicide was seemingly the only means of escaping the mental agony and the pit of despair I felt from the many losses I endured from the previous 3 years (2010-2012), it was truly a much needed awakening for me. And I promised myself that I would write a book about what I learned (during that moment I was already writing a book at the time) which is what I present to you today. The Four Contributors to Our Self- Worth
is a book about hope. Hope for change- lasting change- so that we all can look ourselves in the mirror at the end of the day and say it is finished
, with confidence and clarity. I have used the principles found within these pages and I have found them to work in my life. And I’m not just talking about the good times either. I’m talking about those times, that most of us who are suffering know when you’re all alone and the world seems to be caving in on you and you don’t know who to turn to but God and yourself for strength and encouragement. Yeah, it’s pretty scary. But when you’ve got all of heaven rooting for you, and you begin to understand that there is a lot you can do for yourself, its empowering and rewarding at the same time. And most people don’t want to admit it, but asking for help, when you need it, is a form of doing for yourself as well! It’s called networking.
But this effort of human kindness
in and of itself is not enough to sustain lasting change in our world for prosperity in both the individual level and organizational level. And the sad problem is this theory falls in on itself all the time because of two real truths: people’s goals change and things always change. Companies lose profits and go under. Schools eventually hire new principles with new visions of how to run the schools. Families grow up and move on with life. Churches hire new leadership that sometimes conflict with existing members comfort zones. Social clubs get boring and people find other things to satisfy their entertainment needs. Governments receive new elected officials with fresh ideas with how to run their respective countries which often times is different than their predecessors with hopes to leave their mark in history. Change. Sometimes good, sometimes bad, but it comes whether we like it or not.
However, there is one thing that remains constant through the ages: people’s need to feel like their lives make a difference in the world. And although a company or an organization cannot be responsible for a person’s search for their God given destiny, I choose to say they can benefit when their people who work or volunteer for them begin to understand they were created for a purpose and have a destiny to fulfill and that it’s attainable.
The productivity will become enormous, because these people will no longer see themselves only coming to a job to fill a position: they will finally have a life mission, so to speak, and more to contribute to the world. And this is what I propose with this book.
This is what I believe is needed to bring about balance to both America and our world- a shift in the way we view people and how people view themselves- a paradigm shift if you will in the thought pattern of every thinking person that desires a better tomorrow and a prosperous now. For in order for there to be prosperity in America among the working class, and the business owner as well- true prosperity- there is of necessity then, and urgency, for an adjustment of the current paradigm on how we view and manage people. Society will benefit from this new way of viewing the possibilities of mankind when they are given the opportunities to rise and shine
as they so desire from within, which was originally intended by the Creator of heaven and earth.
As we explore the possibilities of a world with people maximizing their potential and reaching towards fulfilling their God given destinies on a much larger scale than we see today, thus living a more fulfilled life; and business, technology, medicine, art, education, and creative endeavors soar to new heights as never before seen: I hope you will find yourself truly inspired to change your world for the better as well. For that is my goal. To get you, the precious reader, to become engaged from just a bystander to become an active participant in making this world a better place for both those of us here now and for those who will be blessed- not cursed- to come after us. Thank you.

CHAPTER 1
WHERE DO WE GO FROM HERE?
I was not created to simply bore men and women with facts about history or to be mere statistics concerning who was the most effective military strategist in the world. I do not exist to tickle the ears of kings and nobles nor do I endure through time just to be placed on a shelf with my potential untapped. I am power. I am life to those who discover me. I am health for the body, and nourishment for the bones. To the young, I am a companion; to the old, a faithful friend. I am strength. I am a light in the darkness. I overthrow the mighty with ease. By my counsel kings and wise men execute justice upon evil. I belong to the Almighty and the righteous among mankind- to all who make request to God for me without doubting. If you seek me early you will find me; if you seek me as you would for hidden treasure- you will find the knowledge of God. I alone possess true riches. I alone possess lasting pleasure. My name…is WISDOM.
Wisdom. I began with this opening statement because of the truth I have found in the bounty within this principle thing. Wisdom is a thing. It can be possessed or obtained by experience- life experience- when coupled with knowledge. It’s in knowing that we can further our destiny. Without knowing which way to go, or without enlightenment
, or a light
to our path, we cannot walk any further without stumbling around in the dark. The Holy Bible says, Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning
(James 1:17 NKJV). And again, But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy
(James 3:17 NKJV). Then true wisdom, in the purest form, is not only just a gift from God but also will be shown to have good fruits of righteousness with it and not just witty
words or quotes from famous people, but words that truly edify and build up and correct us and lead us to become better people. People we were meant to become.
WISDOM CARES
Throughout one particular book in the Holy Bible, the book of Proverbs, there is a theme. And that theme is that of a Father speaking to his children, with the exception of the 31st chapter that was dedicated by King Lemuel (or King Solomon) as the words that his mother said to him. So the essence of the book is the concern parents are to have in raising their children and passing their wisdom of life and godliness to the next generation, ensuring their success in life. The other influence involved in passing down godliness to the younger ones found in the Bible is found in Deuteronomy 6:3-9 where the nation of Israel was to teach their children of all that the LORD their God taught Moses the man of God so they would not forget- when they went about daily life- they were always to be teaching the children. Without this passing the torch
so to speak of godly principles found in God’s word that gets transmitted through the divinely ordained parental influence we have over our children until they become adults, I do suppose the world as we know it will be in danger of radical transformation and the removal of those Godly principles.
But what about us, the adult children? Don’t leave us out! We are just as important as the next generation after us. For by our decisions and by our actions now we are either building or tearing down both ours and their tomorrow. Or we are securing an anchor for a huge ship to harbor next to or anchoring a solid footing for our house to be built upon. So it’s not all about the next generation- it’s about all of us! We all have a part to play in this project called life and in obtaining the wisdom necessary to carry out the plan and pass on the knowledge we’ve been given through life.
Like I said, knowing is a key ingredient in getting to our next position in life so we can advance in our God given destiny. But first things first. In life, you don’t get eggs first without chickens unless you go to the local grocer who sells eggs for a living. Otherwise you first prepare a suitable environment for housing and caring for chickens, and then you go and buy some chicks and you patiently raise them until they are mature to produce eggs. In the same manner we sometimes expect wisdom to just come easy
or ‘microwave’ itself presto change-o into our heads rapidly the
