    Aditya

    Aditya…..

Where are you dear? Avani was searching for Aditya all over. But he was nowhere at home. She looked in each room of the house for him.

Her pet dog Lion came towards her.

"Hey! Dear do you know where Aditya is?’ frustrated Avani asked Lion.

Booo…. Lion waged his tail looking in to her eyes and went towards the staircase and started climbing upstairs. Avani followed him until he reached the terrace.

Lion pushed the door and entered the terrace. Avani too entered from the door. Aditya was lying on the bed and looking up the stars in the clear sky of September last week.

You devil! Avani shouted at him I am searching and calling for you since last fifteen minutes and you are here, at terrace busy in watching stars.

Aditya stared at her and immediately sat on the bed-

Is mr. Verma back at home?

No. But ….Aditya he is your father. Don’t just call him mr. Verma. Avani said to him

Oohhh…then why are you shouting for? Leave me alone with my stars and space. Aditya said and again lay down on bed and started looking at the dark sky full of stars.

Lion jumped on the bed and sat beside Aditya.

Now you too sit with him and see the stars. Avani said to Lion don’t know what you see all the time and what you search for in the dark sky.

Come here and sit near me. I will tell you about the stars and consolations, Aditya said to Avani.

What will you tell me? Are you an astrologer? Avani laughed at him.

Oh no! What rubbished said Aditya I am not an astrologer. I just like to watch stars, the sky, study the time, think of black hole, and the secretes of space and universe.

Stop thinking about all these things and just focus on the MBA exams starting from next month. Avani reminded him about his MBA exams.

Ohh sis, please, please don’t remind me that, let me relax till mr. Verma is not back. Aditya begged to her.

Adi… several times I have asked you not to call him mr. Verma, he is our father. Avani scolded him.

He never treats us as his children. Since childhood he has always treated us as if we are his puppets and bound to move according to his wish. Dance on his music. We don’t have our free will we can do nothing by our heart. We don’t have freedom to take decision for our life. Mr Verma will decide all the things. What subjects should we choose, where and with whom should you get married. A father is not at all that type of person. Aditya said with disrespect.

You should not speak such type of words for your father. Avani said.

Please, please! Let me have pleasure of my life at least for some time. I want to forget everything at this moment. You also sit for a while with me and enjoy the mystery of the universe, mystery of God’s greatest creation. The mysterious but still emphasizing and mind pulling relation of time, space and the infinite universe. Aditya’s voice was full of passion and combustion.

For a while Avani stood spell bound hearing his words but soon she realized why she was eagerly searching for Aditya—

Ohh… mamma is asking -–she tried to speak to him.

But Aditya was not hearing her. He was still flowing in to his own emotions… Look at the bright star over there. It is thousand of light years away from earth but still its light is reaching to us. And the light which we are seeing at this particular moment is thousands of light years ago.

I didn’t understand this. What are you exactly saying? Avani sat behind Lion.

Lion welcomed her and gave her proper space to sit.

It is a very simple phenomenon. Tell me what time it takes to travel between Delhi to Jaipur? Aditya asked her.

It takes approximately five to six hours to reach Jaipur from Delhi. Avani answered.

So if a person starts at 6 am in the morning from Delhi you can see him between 11 to 12 noons at Jaipur. asked Aditya.

    Yes that’s true. Avani said.

This is also exactly the same. Delhi is at 5-6 hours distance from Delhi so it takes the same time to travel between. Just like that, that star is thousands of light years away from our earth. So its light takes that much of time to reach up to the earth. So the light of the stars or in easy words you can say the star which you are seeing at this particular moment is actually several light years old. Because the light it emits takes many light years to reach the earth. Aditya made her clear.

And would you please tell me what is a light year? Avani asked him with curiosity.

Yes dear. The distance which the light travels in one year is called a light year. Aditya explained.

O my God so the stars are very-very far away from us, and we actually are seeing thousands of light years old star at this particular moment. Now I came to know why you watch the stars for hours and hours. Avani said with great interest.

Yes sister. I really love it. It’s not only my interest but my passion also. Aditya said taking a deep breath.

I understand Adi, but now you also try to understand and please come with me. Father can return home at any time now. And if he comes to know that you are again here he is going to scold you very badly. And not only you, but to mamma also. Avani requested him.

ohkay….come lets go. Aditya stood up.

Come Lion, it’s time to have dinner now. Avani went downstairs. Aditya and Lion followed her.

Where were you Aditya? Since long Avani was searching all over. Mother asked Aditya as soon as he entered the dining room.

I was upstairs, at the terrace. Aditya answered.

You must be doing the same, watching the stars. Right? mother was slightly annoyed.

O dear mamma. Aditya put his both arms around her neck and rubbed his chicks on mothers face and said in a loving voice.

Leave me. Mother scolded him. But she was full of love. She loved both of Her children very much. Her children mean everything to her, they were God’s most precious gifts for her. Her cause of living, her cause of being happy in the life was only and only her daughter and son. Otherwise her life was full of miseries. Her husband mr. Verma was a angry and bossy type of person. He never treated her like his wife; he always treated her as an employee of his. He always talked very rudely. As if ordering her to do this and not to do that.

Avani and Aditya’s mother Anjali, never felt that she was living in her own ‘home’ because she was every time treated as if she was just a care taker of the house and nothing else, by her husband mr. Ashwin Verma.

Not only Anjali but both of his children were also treated in same manner by mr. Verma. He never loved them fatherly but rather treated them like a boss. Since their childhood he decided in which school they should go, what subject they should choose. In which field they should plan their career.

    Just like a puppet.

As Aditya said just like a puppet. Their mother also didn’t have the right to choose whatever is good for her children and what is not. What is the wish and interest of her children and in which field did they want to go further in future.

In this house all rights were reserved for mr. Verma only. That’s why children loved their mother a lot and the name of father was just a fear in their minds.

Come let’s have dinner and then both of you go to your room and start studying before mr. Verma comes home. Mother served dinner for them on the table and dog food for Lion in his bowl.

Very soon Lion finished his food and looked at Aditya and Avani for chapattis.

No Lion….. Bad habit you have already finished your dinner dear. Anjali stared at him.

ummmmmm….. Lion stared wagging his tail looking towards mother.

He loves chapattis mamma. Come here I will give you my sweetie pie. Avani called Lion and gave him chapatti.

This is very bad habit. You should not make it everyday’s practice. Otherwise he will ask for food to everybody. Mother said.

No mamma he is very wise. He wants to eat with us only because he loves us and want to be part of us that’s all. Have you ever seen him asking food from mr. Ashwin Verma? said Aditya tapping Lion’s head.

Now this is really too much Aadi. Stop talking, finish your dinner and go for your studies. Said mother desperately as she wanted them to go to their rooms before her husband arrives.

Please maa don’t be so afraid of him. Now we are no longer small kids anymore. Can’t we have dinner also properly? Let us enjoy the delicious food. Avani said having a bite of paneer curry. hummmm….it’s so tasty.

Well at last they finished their dinner and went to their rooms.

Lion went with Aditya. Come brother, come with me.

Aditya took Lion with him in the room, and locked the door from inside. Lion straightway went, jumped on the bed and lay down.

You are very lucky my bro. you don’t have to study. You don’t have to fulfill father’s dreams. You have free will to do whatever you wish. Aditya said to Lion in a loving voice.

    Lion waged his tail.

Aditya took a course book and tried to concentrate on it but all wastage of time and nothing else. He was not at all interested in doing MBA or joining his father’s vast business. His father was a billionaire industrialist and as all other businessman, wanted his son to join his business and take it to more heights than him.

But poor Aditya. He loved to study about time, past life, future. He believed very strongly that travelling back to past and towards future is possible. He was continuously searching for research papers on this topic, reading such books. Very soon he was bored by his course book; he kept it inside and started reading Einstein’s relative theory.

OHh…. He thought how you are stacked to the topic and you get involved with it when it is of your interest.

At 10.30 pm his mother knocked at his door. Aditya knew his father must have finished his dinner and wanted to meet his children.

Coming Mom. Aditya answered from inside. He kept ‘The theory of relativity’ inside the drover and came out of his room. Lion also followed him to meet father.

Here comes my son. Mr Verma welcomed Aditya very warmly "and where is my loving charming daughter?’

Aditya looked at his mother very surprisingly. What happened to his father today? They are not used to hear this type of loving voice from their father.

    Avani also came there.

Good evening father. She greeted her father.

Ahh… my child, my angle. Mr Verma kissed her forehead this is all because of your good luck that I got a very big opportunity to develop my industry today.

Ohh… so this is the reason why mr. Verma is so happy today. Aditya thought.

Avani smiled and pretended to be happy but she was thinking ‘I never saw father this much happy while we bought pretty good results or when we achieved first position in our field. All his happiness is just related to money and his business.

That day while having coffee mr. Verma sat with his family longer than other days.

Just a few months more and my son will join me and then my business will fly up to the limits of the sky. Mr. Verma said in a pleaded voice.

Aditya felt very nervous inside. Mr. Verma was discussing about future with his family members who were not at all interested in it but continuously nodding their heads to show that they are happy and agreed with him and his discussion.

Lion was very seriously looking towards mr. Verma continuously as if he is understanding whatever he is talking. Mr. Verma smiled and tapped his head with love. Lion was pure breed Labrador and winner of dog show since three years. Indeed he was very intelligent too. His senses were very sharp and he was very well trained by the best dog trainer of the city.

When it was 11.30, Anjali asked both the children to go to their rooms and sleep as they have to go to the college in the morning.

Both of them wished good night to their parents and went to their room. This time Lion followed Avani as he used to sleep with her. There was a small bed for him near Avani’s bed. Lion lay down on his bed.

Avani saw her mobile was blinking. She rushed and took her mobile.

    Abhimanyu calling.

Hello she received the call and spoke slowly.

Where were you? Since last fifteen minutes I am calling you. Abhimanyu asked in a complaining voice from the other end.

"Sorry dear! I was with my father.’ Avani apologized.

At this time? What happened? Is everything okay? Abhimanyu’s voice was slightly sounding sort of afraid type now.

Yes everything is all right. He got a very big opportunity for developing his business today, so he was very happy and wanted to share his happiness with us. That’s why all of we were sitting with him. Avani replied.

‘Oh! I was scared that what happened you were not in your room till now. Abhimanyu was relaxed now what are you doing?"

Talking with you dear and of course missing you. When are we meeting? Since last eight days I have not seen you. Avani asked eagerly.

I know. I am also missing you so much. More then you are missing me. Abhimanyu answered in a soft loving voice.

    "Liar…’ said Avani.

    No dear its true.

Then why haven’t you met me since eight days? Avani whispered.

Try to understand yaar! I have even not slept properly since eight days. I am so tired now. Work, work and work only. 24 hours I am only working and nothing else. Don’t I feel to have long conversation with you, to meet you, sit and relax with you? But I am a government employee jaanu. Helpless some time. Duty is prior to all other things in life. Abhimanyu’s voice was really sounding very tired.

I understand dear. But this time it’s really very long time to see you. You know naa how difficult it is for me to live without meeting you for so long. Avani’s voice was full of love.

It’s difficult for me too, to stay away from you. Will you go to college tomorrow? asked Abhimanyu.

    Yes.

Okay then whenever you leave from college just give me a ring I will anyhow arrange to come to meet you any time in the afternoon. Abhimanyu said.

Promise? Avani asked in exiting voice.

Yes dear promise. Now are you happy?

    Yes very happy.

Now do some refreshing gossip and make my mind relaxed. I am really very tired today.

Okay dear. Love you a lot….

Up to late night they talked with each other. Avani slept relaxed and happily that night and dreamed she is with Abhimanyu and both of them having very pleasant time together. Both of them loved each other very deeply. Though Abhimanyu knew it was just impossible to get married to Avani, but he could not stop loving her. She was his love at first sight. He was always tensed regarding this relationship because he was just an ordinary government employee and Avani was a daughter of a millionaire of the city. He will never accept him as his son-in-law.

    But then also…

He knew the thinking of Indian society and mr. Verma.

    Then also…

There was something pulling him towards Avani. He even can’t imagine living without her. He felt amazed sometimes why he loves her so deeply. From the very first moment he saw Avani he felt she was someone very well known to him, she was here only for him.

Avani is on the earth only for him.

    ‘She is mine…’ Abhimanyu knew.

Whether he will be able to marry her or not, but Avani is only Abhimanyu’s by heart.

And Abhimanyu is only Avani’s love by heart. Where they will be together or apart.

But they are made for each other only.

Aditya went to his room, locked his room and sat on the chair. He was feeling sleepy but then also tried to read one chapter of his course book but was soon irritated.

‘Oh… What the hell! Why I have to read all this rubbish.’ He kept the book on the table and opened Albert Einstein’s relativity.

    E=mc2

Where E=energy, M=mass, C= velocity of light. According to this theory if we travel in space more than speed of light then we can travel in the past. In the space time is still. For example –

Speed of light is 3,00,000 km/ sec

Mass can be converted in to energy and energy can get converted in to mass. Mass
