    Dedicated to my beloved wife…

    Pallabi Devi Sharma

    Prologue

I collapsed in my bed and tried to get some sleep. However, there was no sleep in my eyes. I was shifting my sleeping posture from right to left and from left to right, and tossing up myself in the air. I couldn’t sleep at all. Whenever I tried to close my eyes, I could only see Asha’s smiling face. She was everywhere.

I got up from my bed and started walking in my room. I went downstairs in the hall and poured a glass full of wine, and gulped in one take. And again, I came back in my bedroom and collapsed in my bed. However, there was no sleep in my eyes.

The same thing happened with me every night. The more I tried to forget Asha, the more I recalled her. It was quite difficult to forget her.

It was not easy to forget someone who you love with your heart and soul. The same thing happened with me.

Tough Guy, she has already gone…..Now she is a married woman……She is a wife of somebody……Then she will become somebody’s mother…..and so on…..

Why are you thinking about her again and again? Forget her…..And enjoy your life as earlier……

Forget her like you have seen the most beautiful dream in your life…

Your dream wouldn’t become your reality…..

Think in a practical way……Don’t waste your time while thinking about her…..

    Vicky, don’t be foolish……You are a Tough Guy…..

Come on Vicky, forget her forever…….

Someone inside me was talking to me.

    Don’t ruin your beautiful life…….

You will get more like Asha……She is not the only girl in this entire universe…..

But she is the only girl who I love the most…… I retorted.

All the tantrum of my mind was subdued. And my twin eyes slowly and slowly closed its lids, one after another.

    Chapter-1

Hi, my name is Vicky Sinha. My childhood days were tough and challenging one that made me a tough guy.

My father worked in the cement factory. Whatever he earned, he spent in drinking and gambling. He was an alcoholic. He was a gambler. He was a cruel and heartless man. He never treated me like his son. He was a bad father. I was so unlucky that I got such a cruel father. I felt ashamed of him. People made fun of me because of his bad habits and nature.

So you are the son of Mr. Drunkard and Gambler? the people used to tease me.

And my little heart started weeping.

The more I wept, the more they teased me and laughed.

You also become like your father…..Like father, like son….

Sometimes it became irresistible for me that I started a heated argument with them and even ready to fight with them. However, how many times I could fight with so many people.

One day I went to my father.

Father, I said. Why don’t you give up your bad habits and bad nature?

My father gazed me as the lion gazes its prey.

Because of you I couldn’t go anywhere. Because of you I have no friends….

Beta, come here, my father called me lovingly.

I came close to my father. And he held my hands firmly.

You son of a bitch, my father roared. Who the hell are you? How dare you advise me?

My father started beating me nonstop and mercilessly.

When my mother came to my rescue, he also started beating her. The whole locality witnessed that ruthless scene.

I was hospitalized for a week.

From that day, I had vowed to myself that I would never call him my father. I had decided that I wouldn’t care anyone who would call him what.

On the other hand, my mother was a simple housewife. She was an honest lady. I was proud of my mother. She was my God, teacher and friend. And she was everything to me.

My mother loved my father so much that she couldn’t eat anything without him. She was an ideal wife. She treated my father, like her God.

When my mother used to take her fast on every Karwa Chauth for the well-being of my father, my father didn’t take any notice of my mother. He didn’t care whether my mother had broken her fast or not. He was busy in drinking and gambling.

My cruel father treated my mother as a bondage slave. He beat my mother and tortured her mentally and physically every day. My mother had to work in the houses of other people for our survival.

The time elapsed in the similar manner. However, there was no transformation in the habits and nature of my father.

One day, my father came home with another woman. Her named was Devika. He married with her.

Devika became the mistress of everything and took the control of our house in her hands. She made my father her puppet. She poisoned my father against my mother and me.

You shameless woman, my father yelled. Get out from this house immediately, and take your son along with you.

    My father beat my mother.

Please, don’t do this to me, my mother pled. "Where will I
