    FOREWORD

C ontentious Beliefs is the junction where spirituality meets religion and science to explain the mysteries of life.

Since the majority of man is in search of some sort of truth—truth about God, truth about the beginning of time, truth about the universe, truth about the creation of man, truth about life, truth about death and an afterlife, truth about religion, truth about spirituality, and most importantly, truth about themselves—I, for one, felt compelled to write this thought-provoking manuscript filled with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding, which tackles the truth humanity seeks.

Contentious Beliefs is enclosed with beliefs that define God, the universe, and existence. Therefore, I urge you to read it with an open mind. Consider all possibilities. Do not discard its divinations without fully contemplating its debatable chapters.

    ACKNOWLEDGMENTS

T his book is dedicated to my two wonderful and extremely talented children, Jerome and Jasmine, and their virtuous mom Hysheria. Thank you for putting up with my domestic antics and constant chatter about publishing this book.

I also dedicate this work to all who have supported my previous book titled, Ghetto Logik. Thank you for inspiring and motivating me to publish another profound masterpiece.

Special thanks go out to Jesse Branch, Mykael Correa, Ray Andino, Marlene St Johns, Renne Parris, Angela Jones, Ahmad Ozzie Edwards, Suki Kaur, Orin Bobb, Mahogany Borrero, Barry Adams, Ronald Shaq Hayes, Cyrus Webb, Ricky Herschel, and Shea Bradley.

In the acknowledgment section of Ghetto Logik, I mentioned numerous people, past and present, alive and deceased, that significantly made an impact in my life. To me, that was an amazing way to pay homage. It was impossible to recall everyone and impractical to name them all, but I did my best based on my limited memory.

As a result, that genuine gesture turned out to be a big mistake. Ignorant folks got offended because their names weren’t mentioned, and the majority of the ones who were mentioned did not support Ghetto Logik.

Some spewed out voided words of appreciation, while others promised to purchase an autographed copy from me. But their supportive actions are yet to be seen. I’m still in shock from some of their rigid reactions.

Nevertheless, I assumed innocence. I told myself that they were just confused. I’m not sure if they were in shock because I remembered that they crossed my divine path or if they simply hated my success. I’m not sure if they understood that their names were eternally sketched within the pages of my life’s work or if they unpretentiously could not fathom that my consciousness could drastically change the ways of mankind.

However, I did not allow their negative thoughts, hypocritical words, or static support to arouse animosity between us. After all, they did not ask to be inscribed in the acknowledgment section of Ghetto Logik. I chose to do so as an act of love and appreciation for their friendships and contributions in my life.

Once again, God has entrusted me with another fruitful vision. He has granted me the insight and spiritual discernment to bring forth my thoughts to fruition. He has orchestrated where this book, including Ghetto Logik, will go.

The fate of my publications has been written in the Book of Life. All the hearts and minds that my intellectual skills will influence are online and in bookstores ordering their copies. They are spiritually inclined to receive it.

Without any further names being mentioned, I thank you all for your love and support, especially the unexpected supporters who went above and beyond to help me fulfill my hopes and dreams.

To my social media followers who embraced me as a brother, as a friend, as a mentor, and as an inspiration in their lives, my vocabulary cannot express my sincere gratitude.

I hope that this book’s contentious beliefs will feed your spirit, soul, and flesh. I pray that it will significantly change your perception of life.

Additionally, I hope that it will leave a lasting impression on your psyche, identical to the way that yours have done to mine.

    Godspeed!

    PROEM

E mbrace your strengths, as well as your flaws and shortcomings. Be thankful for trials and tribulations, for without them, we would not be where we are today. If you are not where you would like to be in life, simply exercise faith, action, and patience to create change in your life.

Faith gives us a glimpse of the finished product. It shows us where we are destined to be. Faith makes us feel as though things are, even though they have not yet materialized.

Action fuels faith and propels our vision. Our vision will not manifest in this physical realm unless we put in work. We must do the necessary groundwork that our fruitful vision entails for it to come into fruition; otherwise, it’s futile.

Patience sautés the ingredients of faith and action to create a delicious entrée called change.

However, change is not an overnight event. Change is a painstaking process that leads to the manifestation of our hopes and dreams. Dreams that fulfills our life’s purpose. And purpose that fulfils our destiny.

Destiny that leaves behind a legacy, and legacies like the ones that our late great ancestors fought, sacrificed, suffered, and died for so that we may experience success.

Moreover, legacies like the spiritual gems in this amazing book. A book that stands the test of time like Jehovah, Allah, Yahweh, Krishna, Buddha, or whatever holy name you prefer to call the Creator.

On the other hand, if you do not believe in a higher power, that’s fine; your belief is highly respected.

Once again, I hope you will open up your hearts and minds to all possibilities of this book. Thank you for your invaluable support. Enjoy the read.

    INTRODUCTION

U nlock the door to your inner man, and let the oxygenated blood of knowledge pump through the arteries of your spirit.

Raise the windows of your mind, and allow the gentle breeze of wisdom to grace your soul.

Sweep away the self-gratifying debris from your body so that the virtues of understanding can rejuvenate your flesh.

    Now, take a deep breath.

    Exhale.

And turn the page to a new life.

    SPIRIT

    (King)

O ur spirit is directly linked to God. And we should not mistake it to be our soul. Our spirit puts us in tune with nature and the unfathomable universe. Our spirit is driven by love, not lust. Our spirit is in a constant battle with our flesh because the main objective of the flesh is to steal our spiritual crown and glorious throne.

Our spirit must reign supreme in our lives at all time, or else, we will fall like Lucifer. Our spirit should guide and protect us through the valley of the shadow of death because our spirit is the king of our tri-being.

    THE GREAT I AM

I am one with nature, like the overnight serenading of crickets, the chirping of early birds, the glistening dew on spiderwebs, the fresh scent of newly cut grass, the seductive sigh of a gentle breeze, a secluded stream flowing down fossil rocks, a cascading waterfall, the stillness of an evening lake, the melodious drumbeat of erratic raindrops, and the life-sustaining element called oxygen.

I am one with the universe, which is simply an immense expansion of energy. When I yawn, someone else in my inner circle instantaneously yawns because everyone and everything is spiritually connected to the delicate fabric of space and time.

I am one with God. He’s within me, and I’m within him. Together, we are one omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent entity that is desperately trying to master the human experience.

    GOD THE UNIVERSE

I believe that God existed way before the big bang and that God created the universe. But somehow, he is the same as the universe. I believe that God has no beginning and no end and that he will forever live on, even after the death of existence.

I believe this audacious and contentious belief because how else can my limited mind fathom his omnipotence, omniscience, and omnipresence?

The cliché, You can run but you can’t hide, seems to be true when it comes to the celestial concept of God being the same as the entire universe. It seems that way because no matter where we go in space and time or wherever our vivid imagination takes us, there he is. There is no escaping God’s divine presence. Not to mention, his splendor, creativity, wrath, and unconditional love.

God’s omnipresence allows him to be in all places, at all time, because everything in the universe is woven to the fabric of his unblemished skin.

Black holes are his pores. Wormholes are his hair follicles. Cosmic dust is His flesh. Matter is his bones. Mass is his muscles, and gravity is his strength.

Reality seems to be a mere manifestation of his unlimited imagination, for as he thinketh and speaketh, so shall it come to pass.

Creation is like an intricate part of his complex nervous system. Galaxies, suns, moons, and planets, orbits around his neurons like electrons orbiting around the nucleus of an atom.

Dark matter, dark energy, and all visible objects in the cosmos seem to be spiritually and physically linked to his psyche.

All things seem to flow through his pulmonary arteries and veins like oxygenated blood in our circulatory system.

The Kuiper Belt is his plasma. Meteors are his platelets. Asteroids are his red blood cells, and comets are his white blood cells.

Thus, if this theory is true, then nothing that God has created is greater than the next. All things hold the same value because all things play a star role in his grand scheme of things. All things serve a phenomenal purpose in this mysterious masterpiece called life.

Life is a place where the seven deadly sins (lust, envy, greed, gluttony, slothfulness, wrath, and pride) should not exist and is a place where rage, jealousy, selfishness, and unforgiveness should be absent from the soul.

We are unique beings. Everyone was conceived with unique gifts, talents, and abilities to fulfil a particular purpose in life. If everyone looked, thought, spoke, and performed the same, then this world would be a prosaic place.

I don’t understand why we fight over skin color when God’s skin tone is red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet. Diversity is
