    V-Word: Vision

    What Is Vision?

Let me begin by laying a foundation around the key word vision. God has a grand plan for His children. He has a plan for each of us:

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. (Jeremiah 29:11)

You are not created to roam about in life. You are designed for a specific purpose. He knew you before you were born, and He separated you for a specific goal and assignment.

It is very important to know that your placement in the master plan of God is located by vision. Vision is a pathfinder. It is the pathfinding tool in the hand of everyone born of a woman. Joel 2:28 says, your young men shall see visions. At age seventy-five, Abraham had a vision. In the sight of God, you are a young man even at seventy-five!

✓ Vision is the mental picture of the future.

✓ It is the unfolding of a divine plan as it relates to individuals.

✓ It is a supernatural insight into one’s purpose for existence.

✓ Vision is a necessary and indispensable tool or ingredient in the process of achievement in life and ministry.

    Some Facts about Vision

➢ Vision provides access into the divine program for an individual.

➢ It is the basis or foundation upon which a successful framework is built.

➢ All feats of valor begin and are sustained by vision.

➢ Vision drives its owner beyond the limits.

➢ It is a spiritual cord that draws water from the deep well of life.

The Bible says, Where there is no vision, the people perish. This is true about marriage. Where there is no vision, marriages perish. Vision is a principal factor in actualizing any dream. The marriage dream will fall like a pack of cards without this virtue called vision. It is a firm foundation upon which good marriages thrive.

Planning is an integral part of vision. The word plan means a set of intended actions, usually mutually related, through which one expects to achieve a goal. It is a set of programs toward a specific goal. It is an action graph, an arrangement of carefully drawn out steps one must follow in order to fulfill an ultimate desire.

To fail to plan is already a plan to fail. Great people are astute planners. They succeed before they begin by putting up excellent plans and action procedures.

The greatest example of an excellent planner is God. God is a God of plan and action. There are certain steps involved in God’s achievements:

    1. God verbalizes His plan.

    2. He articulates it.

    3. He executes it.

    4. He designates responsibilities.

In Genesis 1:1, the Almighty God initiated the vision to create the heaven and the earth as primary on His to-do list. He called a board meeting of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The vision was clearly spelled out, and responsibilities were carried out by each member of the Trinity. The three board members were abreast of the vision; they were all on the same page, and each performed the responsibilities leading to actual fulfillment of the vision.

The Son was the word that cleared the darkness. Read this:

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

And the earth was without form and void, and darkness

Was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved

Upon the face of the deep. (Genesis 1:1)

In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God,

    And the word was God.

The same was in the beginning with God.

And all things were made by Him and without Him was not anything Made that was made.

And the light shineth in darkness and the darkness comprehended it not.

    (John 1:1)
