About this ebook

My eyes dwell tiredly upon my soul, who keeps on searching for answers and signs of encouragement. Why, Lord, do I hide in my closet so that Ill never meet you face-to-face?

I no longer want to throw myself upon the mercy of my emotions! I want to enjoy my emotions, apply, and dominate them!

Thank you to the authors of the books I read, whom never imposed their thoughts upon me but allowed me to experience my own earthly frame of reference.

My gratitude and appreciation to my Spiritual Guide for the insights, the thoughts and the words given. EVERYTHING came from Heaven and NOTHING from myself.

This book is dedicated to my children whom I love, respect and honour. May you all find the truth for your lives on this earth plane we are visiting.

    Introduction

In order to share this book and my experiences with you, I would need to clarify a few key points upfront.

Often, when we’re asked to describe how we experience God, we shy away from giving an honest opinion. We’d rather hide behind the words we think others want to hear, or quote the belief structures the church approve of. We are God’s closet children who would rather stay in the cupboard, say nothing, see nothing and hear nothing.

This book definitely doesn’t want to introduce a new way of believing or develop new belief principles. Nor is it the objective to attack the practices of the different churches or place them in a negative light. The regular references I make to the Bible and its churches are because many South Africans follow Christian customs. In fact, I grew up with these biblical practices.

What is relevant in this book is our concept of from where we originate, who we are, who God is and what your own and my personal relationship with Him is. This plays an important role in our relationship with others, in our esteem for God’s creatures and, very importantly, how we share our experiences with one another on earth.

There is a definite reason why we are born, grow up and live in Africa, specifically South Africa. Religious conflicts, past and present, strife about race, gender and much more, are all part of our goal and experiences on earth. Although I’ve been exposed to the experiences of apartheid for example, there is no need, no purpose to still want to experience it. You learn your lesson … then you move on!

How would we find peace, God’s peace, here on earth, if we don’t know our neighbour, if we can’t share, sympathise with and respect that person’s yearnings and desires. We’ve been taught to talk to each other, often in a language other than a mother tongue. Yet we all know universal languages; e.g. the language of love, the language of tolerance, of really caring. In other words, the language of God.

It would be unfair to judge another person’s religious customs without really grasping how that same person experiences his or her God. It would also be unreasonable to wonder if that person’s God is the same God as mine. We know that every human being experiences what they believe in, and who they believe in, in a different way. We will never be certain if another’s God isn’t possibly the same God as mine.

There are also questions in the book about God, His being and existence that many of us would to a greater or lesser degree ask, but lack the confidence to utter in public. We hide and disguise our questions about religious uncertainties, fearing to be observed or classified as people with doubts. Or, even worse, the possibility that our questions may sabotage another’s thoughts, or even the church, resulting in us being accused of mutiny.

Then there is the wonderful world of the child, our youth. The absolute innocence of the baby, the honesty of toddlers and the undaunted impetuosity of our youth. Their impulsive truthfulness often leaves one speechless, dumbfounded. Your own value system and that which is familiar to you suddenly becomes unfamiliar, until one asks: But why not? Why shouldn’t the child ask, say or feel that way?

I’m an African. I live here, in Africa, South Africa. I can’t have my life again nor can I fix the past. But, what I can do, is to encourage today’s youth via my lifestyle, acts and respect for my fellow earth dwellers, my fellow created man of God, to reflect an honest and truthful image of God, for all to walk in His light and love.

This book invites you to experience your own God-given understanding, the way you comprehend it and you know as the truth, and not to live my view about God’s experiences of us all on earth. Take only from this book what you can identify with, and measure it against the understanding your own soul offers you.

God’s day, today, is the beginning of His tomorrow.

Although God lives His presence in the moment of now, He is already busy with the final planning of His tomorrow; as He already knows what will happen tomorrow. The way Jesus knew and believed what would happen during the performing of miracles or even during His crucifixion. How will I plan my day, so that I can know how my tomorrow will unfold?

    Chapter 1

The first sentence in the Bible starts with In the beginning …

My understanding is that there was nothing in the beginning – nothing – except God. There was no earth, no universe and definitely no human being. Absolutely zero. This is a mystery the Bible doesn’t mention and man, at best, can only philosophise about.

And then it happened … God made, God created and everything started.

In the beginning (which nobody argues about) there was nothing, and out of nothing everything came into being. A small grain of sand (metaphorically speaking) started growing and growing, moment by moment. Today we know that the physical universe is getting bigger, daily, every second … bigger and bigger, because that’s how God created it. The universe has not stopped growing, it keeps on growing and expanding.

As human beings living on earth we are handicapped by our comprehension and experiences of illusion – how we think something is or how we think we’re experiencing it; although we know that illusion has no form and can’t be captured. Every human illusion originates from our own thoughts; mine originates from my thoughts and yours from your thoughts. There are enough words in my language to describe my illusion, but too few to let another experience it in the same way.

    How then, according to our own self-made illusion, will we experience God or try to describe Him? How will we word His secrets, or the secret laws of the universe and nature? Please may I share my experience and understanding of God;

    • God is love and that by itself must be the easiest secret we’re supposed to understand. Yet man denies it daily by creating new illusions, a new reason to hide in your closet, since that is easy and safe. Nobody will see you or ask questions.

    • God created everything – all there is. Everything that is, moves and vibrates. Some parts of His creation vibrate fast, others slower. There is nothing that God created that doesn’t move. Maybe in future man won’t measure himself according to degrees of intelligence, but
