About this ebook
The book is entitled Room Full of Emotions. It covers an array of emotions, i.e., appreciation, love, loneliness, encouragement, searching, and reflecting. Through his writing, Rasul has given life to the many emotions that people feel. These emotions have taken on the form of peoplethey have embodied qualities and have a life of their own. And because we all have feelings, Rasul hopes that in his book of poems every reader will identify with a poem (emotion) that they too have felt.
Rasul Mobley
On March 10, 1952, Steven Bruce Mobley was born. He began writing poetry when he was in his senior year of high school (1970). During his college years, his writing picked up. He entered several poetry contests. In 1972, he was given the name Rasul. Rasul is an Arabic name, and it means one who cares for people. He was given that name because of his sensitivity. He worked with students with special needs for thirty-five years. Rasul would often write poems upon requests. People would share their feelings, and he would turn them into poetry. Rasul did have two of his poems published in a book called Contemporary Poets of America (1979); it is a Dorrance anthology. Rasul has written a variety of poems. And because of this variety, he has given many poetry readings through the years, e.g., readings for Black History Month and special education workshops. Rasul believes that poetry is the song of the soul, and we all have a song inside of us.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
I have to Thank God for giving me the ability to be in touch
with so many Feelings, and Thoughts. These Emotions became the Colors of
my Artwork. And I am grateful for the talent given me to put these colors on
canvas. There were times I would see someone in a situation, return to my
solitude and put that picture into words. There were also times that people
would share Their Story and I would paint their picture (story) through
words. For this skill I have to Thank God.
Sincerest gratitude to my mom (Pauline Mobley) for believing in me.
She took pride in anything I did, especially when it came to writing. She
encouraged me to follow my heart and do whatever came to mind. My sister
Rashida Sule followed in my mom’s footsteps. Rashida supported all my
work and looked for any opportunity to showcase my poetry. I regret that they
are not here to see the fruits of their labor.
There is another Mother / Daughter team I need to acknowledge. Sue Cupo
a dear friend of mine who supported me and my poetry. Sue insisted that I
share my work with others. She also introduced me to her daughter Kelly Meissner.
Kelly is an Artist. She is the Illustrator of this book. I love her work and
enjoyed her feedback in the time we worked together to get this book published.
It has been a pleasure working with her.
To Chuck Shrader a colleague who stimulated my creativity through
our many discussions at work. And who sent me a copy of the book he got
published. He let me know that I too can be a published writer.
To Vickie Meigs-Kahlenberg my Breakfast Buddy who got her work
published and inspired me to pursue my dreams of getting my work published.
She simply stated, It’s your turn.
To Anita Wilbanks my teacher friend and colleague who occasionally
had me visit her classroom and share my poetry with her students. Those visits
reminded me that my work needed to be shared others.
To Lisa Baitzel my wife. Who always supported me when I did my
Poetry Readings. And even though Poetry is not her thing she encouraged me
to follow my dream of getting my poems published.
