CHAPTER ONE
KALTUN’S WORLD
K altun was in a basement behind a pile of boxes watching every move her father and his men were making. While the man on the floor lay bleeding, crying and asking for forgiveness he was her first love. Kaltun was very shocked and heartbroken she couldn’t believe her own father was doing that.
Three months ago, Kaltun, who always had hope that she would find her prince charming, had long wavy rich brown hair, eyes that were full of dreams, and a smile that made the problems in the world lessen. She had the body of a super model, which she knew, and when she walked, confidence dripped off her. She was from East Africa and was moving to America with her mother and brother. Her father Hassan, had been waiting for them in the USA.
Hassan was telling his assistant Adam how the house needed to look very proper and everything his family needed should be there before they arrive. Hassan didn’t want to hear any complaining from Kaltun. Hassan knew that Kaltun liked everything to be perfect and she would not be afraid to speak her mind. The assistant Adam was taking notes and promised that everything would be perfect. Hassan turned and told Adam no talking just take notes. Adam said yes boss and continued taking notes. Two days later Hassan’s family finally arrived in the airport, Hassan and three other men went to pick them up. Hassan step out of the car very excited and dressed up to receive his family. He had a dozen roses in his hand and he walked through the airport doors with a smile. Hassan saw them waiting for him. Kaltun ran up to him and hugged him, she with tears in her eyes. Hassan kissed her on her forehead and hugged her again. Inder said Okay, guys I’m here too.
Hassan hugged him too. Then he gave the flowers to his wife and hugged and kissed her. The two men walked up greeted the family, and grabbed their bags. Hassan, holding his daughter’s hand, walked out of the airport doors. Inder and the mother followed them. The driver opened the doors for them, while the other man loaded the bags into the second car. Kaltun loved everything about this new country, and she was ready for anything that came her way. Because she was confident, she blended with the culture and the lifestyle within few weeks.
One morning Hassan told Kaltun to come and learn the business in his company, but she had her own ideas. Her father owned a construction company, building houses
