About this ebook
Chelsea Rene Alford
My name is Chelsea Rene Alford I've lived in Raleigh NC my entire life i enjoy writing short stories, song writing, and poetry. I love the freedom that comes with writing because its liberating to see your thoughts written or to place story on paper from an experience you've been through or envisioned. I am the middle child of four i went to brought on high school and decided to pursue a nursing career. I work full time as a Caregiver which is also a rewarding job caring for the elderly is a wonderful service, learning who people were and knowing their contribution to the world before they got Alzheimer/Dementia is a blessing in itself. I whole heartily believe in the Lord and had it not been for him i don't know where i would be He inspired me to work on my craft and challenged me in my personal life which helped me express myself in a honoring way.

Poetry Is Not Dead - Chelsea Rene Alford
Drops of Rain
I knew you’d come
O little rain
To retire the sun
And hit my face
They say to you
Please go away
But its days like this
To appreciate
You bring earth anew
And participate
In showers from above
That reciprocates
Love on ones with a
Wicked fate
And even on the just
Equally the same
The next time I’m soaked
In your blissful waves
I will lift my voice
And humbly proclaim
Bring down the cloud
And release the rain
Bring down the cloud
And release the rain
39259.pngHumbled In Truth
These bones in an unlikely posture because I’ve known all along of your despicable offer
They say speak peace unto thine enemies upon the alter
Yet I turn my head instead
And get to walking
I stomp murmur I cry and plead
When will this torment take flight and flee
Can I skip being humbled?
Because I’d rather be
In response to the thunder that greeted me
In your hands is a fearful thing but see
I’m just a man with its tendencies
Exalt me in truth fire for proof
And keep me in the direction of the journey to you
39262.pngLoved Lessons
I left a promise in the rivers to drown
Along with us from the mountain top down
Then I clipped the wings from the red bird we blew
Now but nature sings that of a broken tune;
I fired missiles from the alter where we said I do
Released the butterfly born of love’s cocoon
Then I sat with bitterness long after you
And dined with
