About this ebook

A collection of dark poems about a tenebrous situation

which may appear to include extremism and cryptic poetry.

It can simply be described as factious thoughts.

Sounds become solid when they are visible - therefore the written word becomes an entity when seen, so these words live as you do.

    Dusk - Daniel Cole

    11-12

    Black Forest

Thank you for loving me when the trees of chaos

are all that are in view

Thank you for loving me when the vines of instability have

    choked out integrity

When all you can hear are questions of why and how much

longer – you continue to march through the timber

Too many others have looked at me and lost their way in my

darkness, but you have cut a path through the

undergrowth of confusion and stayed true to your course

I have nothing to offer you except an occasional clearing in a

    forest of madness

When I gaze through the wood and the mist clears

I see you among a small band of friends

I see no hope of finding a path, but on the darkest nights I see

your flame flickering in the midst of a little camp of those

    few who care

    The Fool

I have entertained the knights of old

Royalty has delighted in my act

    Their courts, my stage

Their interest, their favor, my prizes

Yet, in the end, their curiosity fades

and with tedious consideration they watch my games

Alike the queens, you gaze upon me with palling eyes

    You nod, then look away

My soul dreadfully revealed, I stand unmasked

A mere diversion I was to you

Quo Vadis? (Whither Are You Going?)

    I see your smile

    I hear your greeting

It’s always the same – like a symphony playing on a

    perfect day

But you are a mirage, as I draw near, you vanish

You entertain apparitions whose names are loneliness,

    need, and resignation

Another will come, a savior, a compromise

You will disappear into the cracks of a decaying ship that

is doomed to founder in the first storm

    Adrift in
