    SEGMENTS OF MY PAST

    By New Addition

So God so loved a bum like me, and got me clean for all to see. He never promised peaches or cream, so I dare not think it as a scheme.

He wakes me up each morning to sing a brand new song. I practice his words of wisdom, sometimes they get away.

I feel encouraged cause I’m still here, to live another day.

He shows me love in many ways, even when I’m wrong.

See his grace is awesome, and I don’t deserve his love.

The hope is that I do his will - I can’t grow until I do.

He is there to guide me, and he will guide you too.

    (Questionable thought)

I never thought I’d see another face, until my heart met you.

The fruits of life are so confusing then you made it all brand new.

I never thought there would be another time, when my mind was free.

Now I know it’s not the king of hurts.

God has laid it out for me!

    (Faces)

Look over yonder, what do you see, faces covering madness, where peace

    should be.

It’s so cloudy that they can’t come in,

The light is dim, but won’t go away,

It gets brighter day by day

Faces covering madness where peace should be.

I can’t tell them about their shoes, they only want to know if it’ll be good news

Faces covering madness where there should be peace

So if you’re living in the gladness, don’t forget about we, remember the faces

And believe what we see, faces covering madness, where peace

    should be!

    Things I remember

My father God, has given me strength and wisdom today, to better serve mankind, and to make sense of my weakness, and to develop my strengths. Since God has always been merciful toward me, I hope I can only pay homage through whenst I came and where he leads me.

To the best of my knowledge, and the recognition of the resources available to me, I’ll stay here.

I was born New Addition on September 22, 1953. When I first knew anything, I remember an old woman, Aunty, my Aunty; a very soft, gentle woman, with an unabashed love for everyone. A very affectionate lady who would cook rolls from scratch as well as tea cakes, which are cookies from the old south, which, if sold, would have revolutionized the whole
