INTRODUCTION

I NEVER CEASE TO BE AMAZED by superlatives of human achievement. Perhaps you have wondered what it would feel like to be greatest something in the world. Because you were born, you are already the greatest you there will ever be. For the rest of us, what we experience of you during your lifetime is our only opportunity to partake of your greatness. Therefore, your existence is a gift to all of humanity. What is it that you are going to share during your life? There is no exact copy of you, so you are as priceless as a rare art piece. Most people probably do not see themselves as particularly special in any way. What distinguishes exceptional people from ordinary people is their contribution—that is, what they contribute in the form of knowledge, special skills, or talent. What makes Barbra Streisand special to the rest of us is her voice. You may not be able to sing like Barbra Streisand or play basketball like Kobe Bryant, but you are special in your own way. You possess something within you that no one else has. Share or give what you enjoy in life, and you will develop this skill or ability over time to higher levels of excellence.
