Michele lives and works in Brisbane, Australia, with her husband, Tommy. Together they have seven children. Michele has written a children’s series based on her deceased rescue puppy and a separate story about a magical tree. Michele is a Creative Writing Therapist. She has a degree in Counselling, is a Reiki Practitioner and has worked for the Salvation Army as a Telephone Counsellor. She has also achieved the Excellence in Leadership Award during her working life. Michele has recently been to Cambodia on a mission trip. She aims to give 10 percent of the proceeds of all her books to a church-based charity that helps keep children safe from prostitution and trafficking.

Lucy Cockroach was reading The Cockroach Daily News. The news headline was about Paisley and the runaway fire truck. It all began the day before.

Paisley was lying on her bed in the sun. Oli had been over for a visit and had brought his toy ride-on fire engine with him. He parked the fire engine next to the gate and started running around the yard. He played fetch with Paisley until his mummy called to take him home. Paisley lay down
