B. R. Ball M.ED., M.A., Ph.D. God has blessed me with a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology, and a Master’s degree in Gerontology, and a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, and a Ph.D. degree in Clinical Christian Counseling. I have been privileged to be Director of Operations and an Assistant Administrator for two different Home Health agencies. Also, I worked as a home health aide. I loved having contact with the elderly. They have so much to offer because of their wisdom, if only people would take the time to listen to their stories. A great number of elderly individuals grieve the loss of their friends, family, health, and etc. Many retired individuals find themselves depressed because they figure they have nothing to offer to society. This is a great misconception that they have. They are valuable and have the ability to make this a better nation with their life history stories, which represents their experiences. One of my former job responsibilities included conducting presentations to raise awareness of the need for permanency for children in the foster care system. Also, I attended events that were determined by the recruitment plan to aid in locating adoptive parents for waiting children. I have had the experience with working with adults and children who had experienced physical, sexual, emotional, neglect, and abandonment. Also, I worked with individual who suffered from serious mental illnesses. I provide mental health clients with tools to help them to make healthy life skill choices. I have implemented plans to assist mental health clients with the appropriate social, anger management, conflict and resolution skills, and increase self-esteem. Also the plan included ways to help them to cope with their mental condition. Also, I’m a trainer for the state where I reside. The training is associated with the National Organization for Youth Services. The training gives a summary of vital information to help with insight and caring for children who have experienced abuse, neglect, and trauma.
