About this ebook

Disappointed at the lack of control over your flesh? Lord Keep My Mind Clean is a devotional, firmly rooted in the Word of God, to help you walk with Him day by day. Each selection includes a salient scripture addressing lust with Holy Spirit filled exposition of the scripture. Pastor Andrae concludes each day with a prayer to invoke the Holy Spirit to give application of the inspiration found in the scripture. This would be reason enough to desire this devotional. But Pastor Andrae did not stop there. In addition to the 31 devotionals he shares his personal experience. Sharing how God delivered him even as a minister who had been struggling with this addiction underscores that this devotional has been written by someone who God blessed to survive the storm -- not just a spectator. Lastly, he includes a daily Purity Pledge. This pledge includes practical tips such as purposefully limiting internet time and praying to God for an accountability partner. This is a devotional that the reader will not simply go through. This is a devotional that a reader will grow through.

    This

book is dedicated to the late Larry J.

Crismon, Sr. (1951-2009) -- my pastor, father,

    mentor and friend.

    Foreword

The author of this Devotional and Accountability Journal, Pastor/ Attorney Andrae Crismon, has always been an impressive person. Since his late father was one of my best friends for his entire lifetime, I have had the opportunity to observe Andrae from his childhood to adulthood. His honesty and sincerity have always been unquestionable -as his family, friends and colleagues would attest. Nevertheless, this devotional journal displays his selflessness and courage. He is transparent in his efforts to help those who are experiencing something that he himself has traversed.

In my nearly 40 years as a pastor, journalist, mentor and professional counselor, I feel that Andrae’s journal is one of the most practical tools I have read that can help rescue people from the damaging grip of pornography. It is encouraging, nurturing and scripturally sound. This accountability journal integrates one of the most powerful methods for breaking addictive behavior—accepting responsibility for one’s own actions….

I will recommend this booklet to every serious person who is engaging in self improvement and a more disciplined lifestyle.

How God Delivered Me From Impure Thinking

Just a few years ago, I was riding in my car while listening to a cassette tape of my late father’s sermon You Can Be Delivered From Your Demon. What a sobering message! The late Pastor Crismon preached this powerful sermon in January 1998. My mind drifted back to this time, where I was fully entrenched in my battle with the demon of lust.

Although in 1998 I was six years into my struggle with lust, I was nowhere close to admitting that it was an addiction. Very much like the smoker, who feels he or she can put down the cigarette, I too, felt that I could rid myself of this immoral habit by saying stop at any moment. In my mind, it should have been that easy; however, what I failed to recognize was the subtle and powerful grip of the Enemy. I thought the attraction of this material was simply erotic and alluring. However, the more I stared, unknowingly, the attraction became demonic.

As I reflected on my struggle with lust, I thought about how I would tip-toe to the family computer room late at night to feed my crave. While in college, I would often go to the computer lab late on Friday nights when there were few people using it. Growing up in a Christian home, where I observed my parents teaching me Biblical principles and then living out these principles day by day, it was very difficult for me to grasp why I was doing what I was doing.

Of course, the main reason I kept feeding this
