Share Your Message with the World: Vol. Ii

About this ebook
Share Your Message with the World started out as an idea of how I could get everyone to share his or her stories. Volume I was such a success and the stories were so inspiring that I decided to make Share Your Message with the World a series. I received many e-mails and phone calls from people telling me how inspired and motivated they were reading the stories in Share Your Message with the World. In Volume II, the stories are just as inspirational, educational, and informational.
I am a big believer that no one cares anything about what youre selling, offering, or providing until they know more about you. This book will tell you the personal journeys of people around the world, how they overcame the struggles of life and stayed focused on the place they were aiming for.
It is true that every day our directions might change, but the one thing that is important is that you stay focused on where you are going to conquer the struggles and recognize the lessons from them. I believe that everyone needs to hear or read someone elses story to be able to continue through daily struggles. The stories in this book and Volume I are the proof you need to know that you too can make it to the finish line.
Make sure to Share Your Message and learn how you too can help someone through his or her journey of life.

Thank You

Big Thanks to my wife, Wendy Gambone, for supporting me with every step of the book and the time that she gave to helping put this book together. And thank you Linda Ballesteros for taking the time to write the forward in this book. Finally, thanks to all of you who have chosen to read these stories, may they encourage and inspire you.
Introduction
I have been interviewing people for over 40 years. Becoming a Radio Host was something that lead me to fully understand the power of listening.
When I decided to do a compilation book for others to tell the story of their journey in life I did not realize that it would turn out the way it did. I thought that if I could get people to tell a story about how they overcame the everyday challenges in their life it would empower other to do the same.
It turned out that it did empower others as they read the different stories told by the authors in Share Your Message with The World Vol. I. But what I did not recognized was how it would empower the authors and myself. I have learned that when we write down what has happened in life over the years we become empowered. It helps us realize all the great things that have happened in our lives along the way.
Most of the time we get stuck on all the things that have gone wrong instead of focusing on all the things that went right. Living in a very busy and noisy world, we sometimes forget the good things along the way. I often say that telling your personal journey will make any bumpy road seem like it just had a few speed bumps in it.
After the first volume of Share Your Message with The World was released people started reaching out and asking if we were going to do a volume two. After much thought I decided to move forward on starting the second volume and get more people to Share Their Message.
I hope that by reading the stories in this book you will be empowered to tell someone your story. Most of the time, if we can just look back and see our journey it will empower us to move forward with a better mindset.

Chapter 1
YOU MAKE ME BRAVE!
By Alison Gentry
When I was little I recall being so angry at the world and everyone in it. I was always desperate for attention, but always seemed to experience rejection instead. I was three when my parents brought my brother home from the hospital. That's when the anger really began to manifest. Up to that point, I had been the center of my parent's world. I hated my brother, because I felt I had been replaced.
I was always strong willed. I hated to go to bed. My parents were so desperate some nights to get me to go to sleep that they created the goodnight fairy to bring me wrapped treats after I was asleep. The first day of kindergarten, Mom drove me to school and I decided right away that I did not like the teacher and I wasn't going in the classroom. Mom took me aside and told me that I had two options, I could go in, or could go home and get a spanking. I chose the spanking. To me, spankings did not hurt. As my parents spanked me, I would just tell myself in my mind that it did not hurt. I knew that pain was psychological.
We moved a lot, I never fully settled anywhere. I went to new schools almost every year. School was boring for me. I would master the lesson and sit and wait on the other kids to finish. That's when I always managed to find trouble. I remember going to parent-teacher conferences with Mom and Dad. Different teachers at different times would tell my parents the same thing, Alison is so smart; she's just too disruptive.
I ended up failing fifth grade when my parents divorced. When my parents told me that they were divorcing, I honestly thought, Good! Now I only have to deal with one of you!
Dad transferred, and Mom stayed in California with my brother and me. I was constantly getting into trouble in school. Mom was now a single mother trying to go to college while working and was continually being called away to come address my behavioral issues. One day walking home from school, a group of girls jumped me and beat me to a pulp! I had no idea who these girls were or why they decided to target me. And, where I had been angry before, I was now raging. I decided to trust no one, and I intended never to trust anyone again. My motto was I am going to screw you before you screw me.
I began running away from home and fighting in school, finally getting expelled. Mom had finally had enough. She sent me to live with my dad who had moved to Louisiana.
Dad worked a lot, so I was left home alone often, a teenager's dream right?
