Introduction

T he question who are we why are humans here on earth is there a purpose to life? And many others, prompted me into digging deep into God's Word, and in the course of my research, I find out that there is a purpose to life. Some of these findings, I shall share with you in this book.

God does not start anything unless there is a reason for it, therefore for Him to make the earth there is a purpose and for Him to create man upon it there is a purpose. This purpose of God must be discovered and be carried out to the fullest.

We are not a product of a mistake; we are special and unique, we are valuable. We are created with a purpose that will add value and flavor to the colossal purpose of God. We are God's building, His house, His temple. The Holy Spirit resides in us (1 Corinthians 3:16). He is in our life to help us reach God's purpose and bring us to the place prepared for us before the foundation of the world.

To achieve the purpose of God, we need to be united with the Holy Spirit in continual fellowship, because He that is united with the Spirit of God in fellowship is one spirit with God (1 Corinthians 6:17). Moreover, in that unity you can accomplish any task that you are given to achieve because You can do all things through Christ which strengthens you (Philippians 4:13 emphasis added).

Join me in this exposition book as we look into God's unchanging Word to explore the purpose for living. My prayer for you is that your eyes of understanding may be enlightened and that your heart may become a fertile ground for the Word to dwell and bring fourth fruits in abundance in the mighty name of Jesus, Amen.

CHAPTER 1

Purpose for Living

You must have a definite purpose of life and a deep desire to achieve it. Without purpose, life is boring. ---Debasish Mridha

I s there actually a purpose to life? Are we on earth by chance? If going by the record of the Bible that God made us in His image, why then are we made to have flesh instead of having the nature like that of the spirit creatures in heaven? Moreover, why are we not living in heaven with God and the spirit creatures? Why are we on earth? Did God put us on earth to try us and make us prove whether we will do right or wrong before we can be qualified to gain entrance into heaven? These and many more questions have remained unanswered and have brought confusion to many.

Due to the difficulties and hard times to living conditions in the world, many find it hard to believe that there is a purpose to life, some who believe do not understand what purpose is all about, and still others, due to circumstances beyond their control, have lost faith in purpose and therefore have resigned themselves to fate.

Many biblical scholars, philosophers, and religious leaders have been trying to find the purpose of life. Some have made meaningful contributions, while some have ignored the truth in the Bible and thus have given us human reasoning of purpose. This is because they were using man's knowledge and understanding to determine the purpose of life. While I thank God for those who have made valuable contributions in their research and definition of life's purpose, I have these little contributions to add, as the Holy Spirit gave me understanding.
