WEDNESDAY MORNING IN September 212, Marcia had signed out from her cleaning job at the Local Bank and on her way out, she met three women cleaners about to leave: Hello ladies. She greeted them:

Hello Marcia. One the women said:

The Security Guard watched Marcia empty the bin and said: It’s raining heavy. Yes: It doesn’t look like it going to stop. Marcia said and took the bin upstairs in the office then got downstairs to see the three clearness signed out: The Security Guard let them out then said: Ladies drive safely. He then locked the door and went checked upstairs and from the window and saw the three cleaners got in their cars and drives away then he went downstairs:

Thanks Trevor: I will: Marcia said and he let her out and then closed the door locked then stood at the window watching Marcia dried the rain off her face and got in her car. Meanwhile, the guard went to get coffee from the machine.

Marcia phoned Gordon: He answered saying: Lee, I’ll see you at the bus-stop:

Gordon it’s me. Your mom: I call to tell you make your breakfast as I might be home late and leave out earlier to get the bus to school as I heard drivers are driving slow because of the heavy rain and causing some roads to flooding:

    Okay mom. Gordon said.

Marcia closed her phone and tuned in the radio to heard traffic-jam on South Road that she always drive on to her home: So she drives on Farrow Road and got caught up in traffic jam as the road was flooded with heavy rain caused by blocked drains:

    As Marcia driving slowly behind at least twenty cars, and at times all cars came to stand-still and heavy rain pelting on the cars and windows, she said to herself: I tried to avoid the Traffic-Jam on South Road and now I got caught-up on Farrow Road at go slow. She smiled and drives slowly as drivers in front going slow: Shit! She said then looked at her wristwatch and called Gordon again: Hello mom;

She went to him. Gordon, you should be on your way to school: Have you had breakfast?

Yes mom: I had Cornflakes, Marmalade toast and orange juice.

Thanks son to look after you and I’m sorry I didn’t get home earlier to make your breakfast as on the way home, drivers had to drive slow because of traffic built-up due to heavy rain. Would you like me to drive you to school? As the rain coming heavy?

Mom, it’s only five past eight: Gordon said. His mother ruffled his curly hair with her fingers saying Gordon honey, don’t tell me you blacken your hair again?

Mom: I hated my rust colour looking hair and especially when the girls touch my hair:

Son, it’s because you’re handsome: However, keep your hair short and your rust colour hair suited you best. And it’s nearly ten past eight and the time on the clock is slow as the batteries dying and needs changing. If you don’t want me driving you to school, its time you go get your bus for school: His mother told him.

Gordon smiled then said: Happy Birthday mom: And, can you please make my bed?

She also cleaned Jailor’s room then went and put the hundred and forty pounds under the bread bin and said: I wondered where my son got this money? She’d looked confused: Then said: Son, I hope you haven’t done wrong to get this money. She start steam mopping the living room: The doorbell rings. She turned the steam mop off and opened the door to see her friend Sonia: Come in Sonia: I thought you were in school with your pupils.

Sonia smiled: No Marcia: I’m off today, as I awhile got back from court and at lass I’ve finally divorce and got my name back as Sonia Eagan.

Ok honey, you bring the children when you’re ready.

    Thanks mom:

    Her mother ran off.

Gordon stops eating and didn’t answer. Then Jailor said. Mom, his dad gave him the money:

Gordon, is your sister told the truth?

Yes mom. I went to my dad and asked him for one hundred and twenty pounds to buy my football boots and he gave me one hundred and forty pounds.

Gordon, I want you to take his money back to him tomorrow on your way to school and you tell him I told you to give him back.

    But mom,

"Gordon, please do as I asked: I will give you the money Saturday to get your Boots.

Eat your dinner son before it cold:"

Gordon smiled and finish his dinner and then had cake with custard: After they ate, his mother washed the dishes then told Gordon "I’m going to work now. And please stay at home with your sister as it raining and keep the windows and door locked:

Also keep off the house phone and you and your sister have what you want for supper and Gordon please make sure your sister goes to bed at nine o’clock as I will be home after ten:"

Ok mom, Gordon said and he and Jailor went to the door to watch their mother got in her car and drives to work at the casino to do her waitress and cleaning job and at nine thirty she clock out and driving home, she phoned Gordon asking You and your sister had supper? And is she sleeping?

No mom: She’s up and we wasn’t hungry Gordon told his mom:

Well I’ll be home soon: His mom told him and she stopped at the Fish and Chip shop and bought chicken and chips, fish and three scallops then drive home to meet Gordon and Jailor eating toast. Honey’s I hope you’re not full as I got you both chicken and chips as I know you would be up and you both have a scallop each and leave me one scallop and the fish is mine and as I’m making tea would you both want some?

No mommy: They said and they had fruit juice. And mommy, would you like some juice. Gordon asked her.

Honey, I rather have some tea. His mother told him.

After they ate, his mother puts the money Gordon dad gave him into an envelope and gave it to Gordon telling him; you leave out early in the morning as you have to the take the money to your dad and then your sister to her School and after school, I want you to get your sister from Mandy as she will get her from school with Zana as their school would close after dinner and I’ll let Mandy know you’ll get your sister on your way home from school. And Gordon, please bring your sister home and you both have what you like to eat from the fridge and freezer till I get home from the hair dresser and if you use the fryer, please don’t leave it on the fire as you did last time and almost burn the house down. Use the Microwave: And please, I don’t want you go asking your dad for anything else and you make sure you take his money to him. And Gordon, I meant what I said."

But mom, it’s not like I always ask him?

Gordon, I don’t care if it’s the first or the last time. I told him I’ll take him to court to support you and he told me he rather pack his bank job in than to give me his money as I didn’t sleep with him again: So you take his money back to him tomorrow morning before you go to school and I meant it. I know you love him and I wouldn’t stop you from seeing him. Gordon, you nearing fifteen years and I haven’t had a penny from your dad or he ever asked me or my family how you were. So Gordon, you don’t need him or anything from him.

Mom: Dad said he’d made a big mistake leaving us and he’s going to look after me. Gordon told his mother then tears came in his eyes.

Gordon: I don’t care what he said! Make sure you take his money to him. He didn’t care if you were born or not; you’ve five weeks to be fifteen and as far as I’m concerned you don’t need him in your life. He only cares about his wife Amanda he was sleeping with while he was with me and his two children with her. And don’t think he was married when he met me. He and I were engaged to be married and Amanda was my friend and as I found out he was seeing her, he told me he loves her and he left me two months pregnant with you even I begged him and cried to him to stay with me till you are born, but he couldn’t wait to move out our one bedroom flat to move in with his social worker Amanda I thought was my friend. Six weeks later; he married her and I felt I was someone dirty he regretted he met to have his child. Meaning you Gordon; so: Please Gordon that looks you showing me was the same look your dad shows me like I’m tarred with shit. He was my first and we were living together for fourteen months and he left me when I was seven months pregnant with you. So please Gordon; don’t look at me as I’m the guilty one. I went to your dad and begged him to come home to be with me until you are born or help me with some money to get food and as I was standing outside his mother’s door, his mother and Amanda came to the door and his mother slammed her door shut in my face. Gordon, I left his mother’s yard in embarrassment that I cried so much: I felt pain that I thought I was going to born you. Your dad caught up with me on the way to the buss stop and told I should go to Social security and ask for help or I should have had an abortion. Gordon I had two month left to born you and I’d to scrape through the money I was getting for maternity allowance and as I hardly had money left after paying rent and other bills I was living on oats porridge and packet soup and bread than to go to my family and ask for help as I didn’t want to tell them what your dad and his mother done to me. Gordon your dad as left me feeling so hurt that I would never want to see him ever again. This is why I want you to take his money to him and never go asking him for anything again. Gordon, your dad and your sister’s dad were the two I had in my life and they both left me pregnant with you and Jailor to married to their women they loves and the only solution I could think of, I wasn’t the woman they wanted for their wife: I was a stoplight for them to drive through to meet the women they loved and weren’t ashamed to be with.

Tears came in his eyes and he hugs his mother saying: Thank you mom to have me. He dried his eyes.

I’m sorry son to told you so cruelly, but I have told you the truth and I love you And Jailor very much. Goodnight son.

Gordon hugs his mother again saying: "Goodnight Mom; and went to his room looking sad with a glass of fruit juice and in tears.

Next morning Marcia got home from cleaning job and made breakfast for Gordon and Jailor and as Gordon leaving with Jailor to their schools, his mother said

Gordon, don’t forget to take the money to your dad

    I won’t mom.

Well I’ll see you and your sister later. Their mom said and she watched them go.

Gordon went to his dad as he lives a short distant way but met his wife Amanda.

Gordon; If you’re here to see your dad, you missed him by ten minutes and if you came to ask him for more money, he have a family to support. I and two kids:

I came to give him his money back?

Gordon you came here two days ago asking your dad for money and today you came to return his money,

I’m sorry, I thought I would need the money, but mom will give me the money and I brought his money to him as mom told me to? Gordon wiped his tears.

Gordon, you keep the money. Your dad doesn’t have to know you didn’t need the money and you know he loves you and you’re family.

He hasn’t count me as his son, all the same, I want you to give him his one hundred and forty pounds and tells him I won’t bother him again.

Gordon: can I ask you why you brought the money back?

Amanda: mom asked me to give him his money back.

And why did she tell you to do that?

She found the money while changing my pillow cases and she asked me where I got the money and I told her I asked dad and she told me take his money back to him and she’ll give me the money to buy my football boots: So would you please give dad this money back, and would you let him know I won’t bother him again.

You bring back the money after school and tell your dad why you don’t want it.

Gordon puts the money on her kitchen table and walked out the house. Amanda walked out behind him saying: You dad would feel bad. What else has your mom said?

Just give him his money and tell him I no longer need it. I have to take my sister to School and I don’t want to be late to get to mine. Gordon dries his moistened eyes.

Amanda looked hard at him then he said. Mom told me when she was pregnant with me he left her to be with you and when she asked him for money he told her she should have had an abortion:

Jailor holds Gordon’s hand saying. Come on brother, take me to school.

Gordon, you sure that’s what your mother told you?

Yes Amanda. I told mom I asked dad for that money and she told me to give him back. And when I asked her why, she told me dad told her she should have had an Abortion and he left her and married you and you were her best friend.

Gordon, I’m so sorry about what happened, but your dad told me your mom had finish with him.

Dad lied to you and you are no better than him. He even told mom, he rather gives up his job than to give her Money and she should go and ask for help from social security.

Ok Gordon, I’ll give your dad the money. But you’re welcome to come here at anytime: You remember we’re family, you sister and brother wish you were living with us: Anyway, I wouldn’t say anything to your dad of what you told me. And Gordon, I’d really believe your dad and your mom had finished.

So why did you stop talking to mom and stop being her friend if she had finished with dad:

Gordon, I being with your dad, I thought your mom would hate me. I won’t keep you any longer, you take your sister and you to your schools. I’ll give you dad the money but you’ll have to find a way to tell him why you don’t want the money anymore: Soon as he comes home I’ll give the money to him.

    Thanks Amanda.

    Goodbye Gordon; Goodbye Jailor,

Goodbye Amanda. Jailor said and Gordon shook his head and ran off with his sister to get the bus to take her to school but meet his friend Lee waiting for the bus:

Gordon smiled and dried his tears. Gordon I called for you and got no answer. Lee said. Gordon replied: I left out early to take my sister to school as mom left out earl to work.

I forgot your mom do cleaning in the morning and cleaning at the casino in the evening Lee said and grinned.

Gordon watched Lee hard and held his sister’s hand and got on the bus and as time to get off the bus; Gordon holds his sister’s hand and telling her: We get off the bus.

    He takes his sister to her school, saw her in her class then set out running to his school and the end of his school day, he went to Mandy to get his sister as his mother told him too and as they got home, he phoned his friend Lee asking him Would like to come to my house and play computer games on my new X-Box my Grands bought me for my birthday;
