About this ebook

Channeling Healing, Book Two of Walk to Where the Butterflies Are, is a continuation of the journal kept by Joy Allyn Jones from December 31, 1983 through August 4, 1991 as she transcribed messages from beings in the non-planetary universe that were channeled through the love of her life, Rodney Andrus McKeever. The messages, referred to by Joy throughout the journal as sharings, were filled with advice to follow regarding the achievement of ultimate health when faced with a life-threatening disease and also with fascinating information about the nature of reality in the planetary world and the non-planetary universe.

There is much about the world we live in that remains a mystery to most people. However, there are a few lucky inhabitants of planet Earth who, whether by chance or design, have a higher level of understanding about the essential characteristics of our planetary existence and a knowledge of our ability to connect to the non-planetary universe that lies just beyond our normal perception.

Within these pages you will find discussions about the mysteries of existence that have fascinated human beings over time and, perhaps, even answers to questions you have asked your whole life.

    INTRODUCTION

It has been many years since Book One of Walk to Where the Butterflies Are reached print. Although I would have liked this project to move along at a faster pace, the circumstances of my life did not allow that to happen. And, since I was the one bequeathed this collection of sharings from the non-planetary with the request that only I be in charge of bringing its contents before the public, it would not have been appropriate for anyone else to take on the task of getting it published. In the grander scheme of things, I tend to believe this book is becoming available now because it’s the best possible time for it to make its appearance. Those of you who have chosen to read it, be that in 2015 or at some time in the future, have been led to it for a reason. Only you know what that reason is, and the value this book has in your life will be dependent on the information you are ready and willing to garner from its pages.

If you read Book One, you already know that the inception of the channeled messages in the book occurred due to a need that Joy Allyn Jones had to search for information on healing herself after a diagnosis of chronic leukemia. She was in a relationship with my father, Rodney Andrus McKeever, whose love for her forged a path he never expected to go down, one where he developed the ability to channel information on healing and the purpose of planetary life from beings who reside in the non-planetary universe. For those who are interested, a complete explanation of how this happened can be found in the introduction to Book One of Walk to Where the Butterflies Are.

Please understand that Joy was very particular that not a word or punctuation mark be altered from the original journal. For the most part, I have adhered to her wishes, with rare exceptions where the original sentence structure would have compromised the reader’s understanding of the message. Therefore, at times you may find odd juxtapositions of words or strange punctuation that leads you to believe careful proofreading was lacking at the time of publication. Please be assured that the mistakes you encounter are simply glitches in the communication or reception of the messages as they passed from the non-planetary creators of the sharings to the channeler, my father.

There are various messages in this journal that originated from a non-planetary friend with an Irish accent. Joy did her best to use clever spelling to reveal the delightful accent of this particular messenger. For those of you who find it difficult to make heads or tails of the occasional oddly-spelled word, I have included a list at the back of this book of these Irish vocabulary words and their translation into common English.

Now that Channeling Healing Book Two of Walk to Where the Butterflies Are has reached print, it is my profound hope that you find comfort and personal growth within its pages. When I read a sharing from the journal, I feel that the information was not only intended for Joy’s personal consumption but to enlighten anyone fortunate enough to encounter the message.

Read this book as if every word was intended, not just for Joy, but for your healing and development, too, because undoubtedly it was. We are in this universe together and the knowledge of All There Is should not and cannot be kept a secret. It exists to be discovered and shared for our benefit.

Enjoy the following sharings, and be assured that there are more volumes yet to come.

    In peace,

    Laurel McKeever Gillis

9-3-84 I was washing something out in the sink and wondering aloud to Rod about whether they had been referring to my health or to something else when they had said last time, We are pleased to see you in the advanced state of balance that you find yourself. Rod said I was about to find out. I certainly hadn’t been expecting a session so soon. I let the thing in the sink go and we sat down at the kitchen table.

"It is of great interest that your development has been such that you picked up upon the subject matter of this day. For it is our purpose to review, in a sense, your progress in respect to your healing and your life adventure from the day of our first sharing. We shall touch upon this today. When we have completed our dissertation, you shall see perhaps the basis for your progress, to some extent.

"We find you substantially physically improved with respect to your main challenge and with respect to other healing processes that have been occurring and shall continue. We are pleased; you should be pleased.

"We remind you that we have the power to teach. You have the power to learn and to utilize your newly gained knowledge. There is no limit to what you can do with that knowledge.

"The extent of continuing improvement will be measured by your true desire and your willingness to place your energy in momentum in the right direction, as you have been doing. Momentum builds, you see. And should it falter, it would needs be the momentum would again be regenerated, hopefully at some point to reach a crescendo.

"You will recall that the ingredients in our recipe are mixed gradually, a few components here, a few components there, later to be mixed with each other into one homogenous healing effort. Fortunately, these mixed ingredients do not lie unused in a far-off receptacle. They immediately become part of your body and spirit and commence their contribution to the healing desired immediately upon ingestion. So we do need right at the beginning of such an effort a modicum of desire, of hope, of acceptance, of rejection of negativities, of acceptance, and of the other roughage to be digested.

"What gives zip to our progress is really the spices. For we must have the high vitality of happiness, joy, pleasure; relaxation in the knowledge that success is inevitable; self-admiration, both physical and spiritual; emotional control without effort; and a great deal of attention to giving one’s self first preference, then dispensing part of the energy left over for the benefit of others.

"Look always to see the beauty in your self. Accept an admiring glance for what it is. Believe those attributes expressed to you by others, without investigating reason.

"We could go on and on, but you get the idea. These are the spices that make the recipe palatable. Who wishes to consume a bitter cake?

"There is so much more to be expressed. How can it be done in a lifetime? Our agenda has first in order much more about the essential ingredient of a good life: no negativities. And we shall go into the subject matter of meditation in such a way that it will lose its tart flavor, in your mind. We might mention that properly approached, meditation is a very private, very comfortable way of taking a moment to assess all the positive energies that have come your way that happen to cross your mind at that relaxed moment. If the word ‘meditation’ seems awkward, we could substitute the words ‘self-assessment’ and ‘summing up.’ We could add the words ‘dream state,’ in which we reach out for those visualizations that appeal to us and appear to be desirable in our personal life state.

"We do not recommend that you reach back in memory to your physically weak moments and compare them with your present strength, for although that might bring forth a realization of your remarkable progress in your physical state under the circumstances of your challenge, it on the other hand would add negativities in contemplating the weak moments and we would have to waste energy exorcising those negativities. So let us just accept that you have gained momentum satisfactorily and have every reason to expect a continuing healing progress – accompanied by a feeling of well-being, physical and emotional. All of us are attacked on an occasional day by the forces of others, and the repulsing of such attacks sometimes sends us reeling for a moment or so. But we regain our balance and move forward.

Your physical balance – your physical body, the balance of the cells of your body, in combination – is far advanced from such a short while ago. You hold the key to maintain this advancement through your will, your acceptance that you do hold the key, and your demand for continuing progress. You should be very pleased.

That was a serious one, Rod said. Have you ever heard from that one before? I asked. I usually asked. I was trying to think, Rod said. I really did not recognize a previous personality, he said, but it might well have been. It was a very studious and powerful and professional entity. Whatever he was, I was just thrilled. With the message, and with having gotten one so soon.

9-8-84 Rod said he was going stir-crazy, so I asked him over for lunch – only four days after his cataract operation. I had oiled the handsome maple butcher-block table. The new placemats and the iridescent rose from the wild bush out front made you forget it was at least ninety degrees inside.

You know, Rod, something I didn’t expect, I said. I think I’m beginning to love ’em. When I hacked away at the weeds in the roses this morning I quit just before my back would have given me real trouble, because they had cautioned me. Something I could be curious about is, what are they? They must be like us, for them to say what they say. Certainly they aren’t just particles.

After lunch I read him the advice they had given him last week. By the time I reached the end of the list, it was clear that I was going to get a session. Whoever it was liked the table.

"What a delightful environment! We have such a selection of choices that the priorities seem endless. But we seek a happy choice for a happy girl.

"It is time we spoke of activity. You have before you your recipe. How well you have prepared it. It is time to add the ingredient of activity, to activate the ingredients in our invaluable recipe.

"There is a time for all things. You have prepared the groundwork, and now that all is in such excellent balance it is time to, shall we say, experiment a bit with inducing the ingredients to start to bubble and boil and mix and to achieve observable effects.

"Our suggestion is to choose a particular ingredient, even possibly two if mixing is a requirement, to focus upon for four days, with the intent of changing your universe with respect to that ingredient.

"Of course an example would be in order. Since this is not the moment for serious hard work, the choice of concentrating upon negativities would be distasteful. For that we need a certain type of energy and enthusiasm and appetite. This being a time of happiness and celebration for the progress so far observed, it is the time to take a gentle and encouraging ingredient that acts like the yeast to lighten the mix. So we should consider perhaps concentrating upon one of the spices of your choice, for three or four days. Which ingredient, we shall later determine. We shall look at negativities as though that were to be your choice, but only for example.

"For four days we should examine each happening; each statement, verbal or physical; each sudden thought; and we should first ask the question, ‘Is this a negativity?’ If the answer is a positive one, we must then say, ‘Am I creating this negativity, or is it being offered to me?’ In either case, we should inquire of our self, ‘Do I wish to give this negativity the life of acceptance?’ If the response to that query is no, then we should, in a sense, lift the negativity in the palms of our hands and cast it adrift (Rod raised his hands above his head) in the universe, with the admonition that it does not belong in, quote, ‘my personal universe,’ unquote.

"So as an example you find there an exercise, repeatable by the minute, the hour, the day, ad infinitum.

"Since this is not our program of the moment, we may examine it sufficiently to acknowledge that there are many opportunities to consider all aspects of negative incidents for four days without running out of such opportunities. There you have your exercise, and when the day comes that it is your choice to examine negativities, you shall refer back to this sharing for guidance.

"So the time has come for you to consider the many spices, or, if you choose, the more solid ingredients of our recipe, and pick one by choice, or close your eyes and stick a pin. And in our next sharing we shall probably communicate together with respect to your choice and to be of assistance if needed. Of course we could pick one for you. But this is to be a happy and fun thing, to be lightly approached for the following four days and pleasantly experienced.

"As an example, one could pick the spice of happiness. And, upon the occurrence of an incident, pay close attention and inquire, ‘Does this add to my happiness?’ If not, to the back burner it goes. If it does, let’s examine it a little further and fondle it a bit, roll it about upon our tongue and extract all the flavor.

"You have much there to consider. And we shall let it hang in space for the moment, for you to pluck out when ready.

"How can we help but share our greatest experience with you when you express an interest and willingness to understand us. Indeed, we are all alike – you, I, and the others. In our environment we have greater freedom to express ourselves, very little static or friction to interfere with all experiences presenting themselves. You will be pleased to understand that each of us in our non-planetary environment is the summation of all previous experiences, planetary and non-planetary. Each remains with us throughout, to eternity.

"We stress and pay attention to and value those experiences we consider growing and positive. We minimize or ignore those experiences noncontributory and valueless. They played their part in opposition to the positive experiences, thus giving greater value and meaning to the positive experiences – the sadnesses of a planetary existence being overwhelmed by those happy and productive experiences, all leading to a complete life experience. To carry with us all of those negative happenings would be burdensome and wasteful. So we classify them, record them, and allow them to drift away, except when reference is needed.

"One would think that a great deal of space would be required for such vast material to accompany us everywhere and at all times. Not so. There is space enough in the universe for everything, and would you not think that our technology would be at least as advanced as yours upon your planet? Surely you can see the simplicity of compacting all matter without losing its value, through ready reference.

"Can you see what a wonderful opportunity for our spices: happiness, joy, and we might mention the happiness and joy of achievement that we experience. All of my friends and yours keep very busy, because that is exhilarating, rewarding and pleasant. We are constantly at play with each other – in the sharing of our individual achievements and growth, and in the mutual attractiveness of our personalities. We have our favorites, as do you. And there is no limit to the ecstatic interchange of loving vibrations, expressed in any of a thousand thousand ways.

"And you may keep in mind that our energy is boundless. What is to come next for each of us is a constant source of excitement, for there is everything to choose from: new experience, old happenings to be revisited if desired, untold ways to contribute to the ultimate maturity of All There Is, into that state of perfection we all seek.

"It is with a great sense of loss that one of us at times considers a planetary existence, for we voluntarily accept limitations and struggle in place of total freedom and constant pleasure. It is with equal delight that we accept the rare opportunity of expressing our talents in a sharing with one of you special souls. We appreciate your sensitivity in recognizing our loving vibrations for you personally. This experience of sharing is as much a part of the personality of each of us as any other planetary life experience or adventurous happening. It is a part of us now, never to be separated or lost. And, as such, you are a part of each of us, never to be separated nor forgotten.

We welcome your inquiries, formal or informal, at your choice. And we celebrate our mutual love.

That was such a formal close, I said to Rod afterward.

How could that thought be otherwise expressed by a group? he replied. I know how it works, he said. They are all together concentrating their energies in these sharings. And the spokesman picks up the thoughts and messages in his mind and distills them into the one message.

I asked Rod how the words came out of him, but he got sidetracked. I’ll have to remember to ask him again.

9-12-84 A period! I bask in its attributes. I float, so relaxed. Then two hundred pages of PI testimony, till 6:30. A period! I sparkle in its cleansing properties. Then 78 pages of an engineer from Truesdail Labs in two hours. I draw up the image of the iridescent rose to keep writing. The spice I had chosen disperses in the gale, as I watch.

9-13-84 Rod and I went over to Laurie’s so I could give her her birthday present. I read to her the sharing on The Rest of Our Selves That Does Not Exist Upon the Planet and the two sharings on Looking Inward. Nobody had the energy for a session. I kneaded the pliant wax of a spent candle as I read. You ought to take a sculpture class; you have the hands for it, Laurie remarked. I laughed. I’d make fairies, I said.

We had a session anyway. Laurie had Irish harp music on the stereo:

"There are some of us you have not met.

In conformance with the mood, subject matter, and our own interests at this time, we shall touch lightly upon some of the matters under consideration. Do not expect great depths of information, for we feel a bit frivolous, we that speak to you tonight. And in a sense we shall perhaps play hopscotch, at times invading your planetary environment.

We were invaded by what could have been a couple of teenagers out cruising in the family car:

"There is a difference: You have your opportunities for change, and we have ours. We too find the others a bit restrained – very restrained. It seems they think they know it all, doesn’t it? It seems that way to us.

"We say, they want change? We can do it. Why don’t we make the changes they want? And they won’t let us do it. If we tease a bit and say, ‘Just a little?’ they tell us to get busy and make our own changes. But we don’t want to.

"We’re not supposed to get involved, you know. That’s up to the big brains, the ones with the real knowledge, they say. It doesn’t seem so difficult to us. You don’t like what you’re doing? Change it. You don’t like what’s in store? Change it. That’s what we do. The trouble is, we don’t always pick the right change.

"But we’d like to come down and do a bit if they would let us. We probably could, a bit. But we’re told it’s forbidden, that the desire for change in a life on a planet, just as where we are, must come from the one who’s going to benefit or despair of the results.

"So we say to them, if we’re invited, ‘Can’t we go and play a bit?’ Doesn’t seem so. But it would be fun. And what good we could do. But they say it’s against the rules. They tell me to wait until I get my existence programmed and straightened out before interfering in others’.

But they did let me travel your energy chain.

Someone then gave a lecture on art form as precursor to change. It just didn’t jell. Laurie didn’t want a copy of it, Rod didn’t want it read back, and I don’t want it in my notebook.

9-16-84 I almost didn’t get a session this morning. I don’t like the tone of the sessions lately, and this one was no exception. At the start, this fellow speaking in an Irish brogue could have been Ryan, but I wasn’t sure.

"I was a rogue, you know, not as I am now, and you were a spicy lass, and that is the way it was meant to be.

"There was fun mixed with sorrow, and a carry-over of things not done.

"There were happy days, and nights, and sorrowful happenings beyond our control, and that was the way it was meant to be.

"I can still see the days, and the nights, for we are not meant to forget. The remembrances will stay with you too, to be brought forth at a caring time.

"And so perhaps my interest in your well Earth being accounts for my participating in your healing program as well as guidance for a better life. No matter what, it still spells love.

"Recognition is an ingredient for healing, and an important factor in lifestyle. To be happy and not recognize one’s happiness is indeed wasteful. To have the opportunity to make a slight change in direction and not recognize the opportunity is a loss. To be the recipient of love or kindness or gratitude or appreciation and not recognize these when they occur is to dilute the spice of happiness in one’s healing recipe.

"Of course we usually recognize such things, but sometimes we are so busy with our regrets, with contemplating the injustices about us, that we allow the spices to flow by untouched.

"This of course is a reflection upon the negativities that are offered to us, which we need not accept.

Were we to have a life devoid of negativities about us, it would be dull indeed, sterile, tasteless. The refusal to accept such negativities as are afforded strengthens the richness of our existence. For every negativity faced and refused, a wealth of positive growth factors enters our life existence, enriching it and making it more palatable, more meaningful, more acceptable, more desirable.

It is worth the effort to hold at arm’s length all negativities we can recognize and have the energy to refuse. For that leaves us all the refined and better qualities of life existence to draw upon, which makes for a far better life and justifies the effort of our existence. These values travel with us forever.

"I recommend this process very, very highly. It deserves your attention in a casual way. You need not go turning stones over to look for the negative creatures beneath. Merely recognize them when they approach and gently step aside. Be comfortable and happy in this effort, and do not feel the necessity of appreciating the rewards. For the appreciation will be automatic.

"As an aside, without the negativity of sadness, one must be happy. Without the negativity of regret, one must be satisfied. Without the negativity of feeling put upon, one must be gratified at the efforts of others. Without the negativity of feeling loss, one’s life must be enriched continually. And so on and on.

Give it some thought. Give it a try occasionally. But remember, recognition is an important ingredient in both your healing recipe and your lifestyle, as well as all that comes with it. And no matter what, there are those of us paying attention to these matters for you, for your success is our success. And your warmth is my warmth.

Was that Ryan, Rod? I asked. He didn’t call me his colleen.

Does he have to? Rod replied. After all, this was about recognition, wasn’t it?

    Oh, shut up, I said.

‘You can ask, Rod said. He’s still here."

"Indeed, colleen. ’Tis in the vibrations rather than the words used, and indeed t’was a wonderful life experience that we shared so lovingly. Even could we go back and control life’s happenings we would not do so. For to break the pattern would break the spell.

Would you rephrase your question, if you still have one?

Were you talking about the same life we shared today as the other times you were talking about it? I asked. I am so stupid. Maybe some day I’ll wake up.

"Indeed. For at this time of our conversation, other shared life happenings have not shown their shape.

"We are not always aware of all of our adventures at one time. It is as though the pages need to be turned. And then we discover that it was there all the time, lost in our remembrances, unrecognized in our busyness with other things.

"Perhaps there are surprises for you and for me. How exciting to wait and see. In the meantime there are indeed things to be done, successes to be accomplished.

There was a time in Egypt and Phoenecia for you too, though not for me – a time of love and excitement, of grandeur, of exaltation, of wealth, and there, too, of sorrow. For life without sorrow is like a shower without soap.

If he had been there to stare at, I would have just stared at him. A shower without soap? Maybe I do need more of the desert.

9-18-84 "Health is a question of balance. Those two words are almost interchangeable, Dr. L. said. I had handed him the message ‘Progress! Report’ from two weeks back. An interesting mix of eastern and western thought, isn’t it? he said. I don’t know anything about either one, I said. I read the desert flowers and that’s it, I said. Yes you do. Yes you do," he said.

He smiled, savoring the words as he read through the sharing. Dynamite advice, he said. Congratulations.

But that was September 3rd. I had a horrible week at work after that, I said, and described it.

Haven’t I ever told you the story of my two heads, how I get schizophrenic? he asked. It was busy in there. He must have been really working to keep his cool. I split my head in half, he explained, so that two faces are staring at each other. One says, the attacker, that I should do this, I should do that, I should do this, until I drive myself crazy, until I can’t enjoy the trees or the flowers or the fact that you’re here. The other face says I’m a pretty good guy, I do the best I can. And you know, the defender always wins. You should get off your back, he said. Quit demeaning yourself, calling yourself stupid.

Letting myself be manipulated into working too hard, that’s pretty stupid, isn’t it? I replied. My side is a mess.

I fight for balance, he said. I fight for balance all the time. If one is smart enough to seek balance instead of wealth or power in life, that seems to me to be a worthy goal. That’s my goal, he said.

You have the tools, he said. You have the tools inside, in your heart. You have the tools. It says so right there, he said, pointing to what he had just read. I took the note he wrote for me for work, no more than three jobs a week. I mumbled something tentative about progress. You will or you won’t, he said. But you have the tools.

He moved his chair, reached open-handed, took my two hands in his, studied me a few seconds. Motionless I stared back. It’s okay. It’s okay. And it’s going to be okay, he said. Then a quick, firm hug, curiously faceless. You will or you won’t. But you have the tools.

9-20-84 Dinner with Rod this evening was pleasant and refreshing. Rod poured the wine and toasted: To Keane, Ryan, and Dr. L. I was explaining to him about trying to meditate on the stationary bicycle. Running you can do it better, I said, because you can’t think. Either you’re in a half trance to keep from stopping or you’ve gotten so tired you stop. On the stationary bicycle you can get your heart rate up so high you can hurt yourself, so you have to keep it down to a reasonable level, and that leaves time to think. And when you think— I was interrupted:

"Meditation does not occur through invitation. Meditation is, as your dear physician friend would say, a tool. To be used to open doors, to place things in mechanical balance. A tool.

"No one can describe properly a method for meditation. Arbitrarily meditation does not occur. Meditation is understood, comprehended, utilized by those who have had the experience.

"One enters a garden. Someone is holding one’s hand and says, ‘Come with me; I shall show you the flowers.’ And you follow. And you see the flowers. It is a happening, seldom the result of a demand. It is an invitation to walk the paths of understanding, of comprehension, of total immersement in the pool of comfortable existence.

"What is meditation? Well, who is asking the question? To every single soul meditation may appear in a different fashion and may assume a different façade. So let us talk about meditation for you.

"We spoke of one’s hand held entering a garden. You have so close to you there one whose hand can lead you into and through a garden of understanding of meditation. In which case there is no work for you to do.

"It makes no difference how you find yourself there, for there you are. Once there, you shall never leave the state of meditation until you so choose, and you shall always find yourself back in the same meditative state whenever you choose.

"Let us explain. In a total meditative state, one is so balanced as to not be pulled this way or that way, as to not even be thinking; and, not thinking, there are no decisions to be made. When one is in a state of meditation, one is floating. Untouched, neither sinking nor rising, comfortable as in a down mattress, with a down pillow, stretched out in a totally comfortable state. One’s mind is in limbo, unused.

"The energy of the accumulation of one’s innermost thoughts draws one to experiences of the mind – experiences that provide all the answers to unknown questions.

"At first, the very delight of such a meditative state is a total reward within itself. For one is impervious to outside influence. Sooner or later, in the meditative balance, one’s mind begins to expand, and one travels routes heretofore unknown. One becomes conscious of one’s self expanding and touching heretofore unrecognized and untouchable vibrations and personalities gifted to lead one throughout the universe during such meditative occurrences.

"When the meditative adventure ceases, one remembers consciously what one wishes, sometimes as a dream, in a sense. Other times one remembers a spot visited during a meditative state and automatically gravitates toward the same direction at a further meditative experience.

In the beginning, these are difficult experiences to accomplish, for the reason that the thinking mind wishes to accompany the experience with rationalization. We must learn to put the thinking mind to sleep, as one would put a child to sleep before enjoying an evening’s pleasure. The thinking mind has no place in the meditative state.

It was work getting down the words. Sleep sounded good.

"You are being exposed at this moment to the relaxed vibrations of the meditative opportunities. When the time comes for you to express your interest in such an experience, either the first or second or third or fourth or fifth of such excursions you shall suddenly find yourself completely relaxed, your mind separated from your true self and your inner self free to travel with excitement to record experiences outside your greatest expectations. Coincidentally, when this happens you shall feel as though you had been in a sauna: totally relaxed, completely gratified, and enthusiastically anticipating further meditative excursions.

"We shall be watching for you. For your guides are most important. We feel very close to you at this very moment. As though we couldn’t wait to guide you through the beauty of the meditative universe.

There is much more. So much for now.

Rod looked like he was swimming in his own pool, all right. For a good sixty seconds. I asked him later why guides were so important. He said when you’re in a meditative state you have to be guided where you’re going. At length Rod came up for air – with Ryan:

There is much, colleen, to be accomplished through the meditative state, for your world. Other worlds you have visited. "When one is in the meditative state, remember that one takes back to the consciousness a selection of the jewels one sees, of the joys one experiences, of the remembrances so faint yet more easily brought forth during such relaxed trips within the mind. ’Tis then that one can mentally fabricate a bridge to the unknown, retrace one’s steps with the thread of remembrance.

I speak so, colleen, for who knows? In such a state of total privacy we may again touch a remembering hand to another. I recommend it highly. I look forward to a fleeting touch at the very least.

And Ryan was gone. The first speaker returned to conclude Rod’s demonstration, you might say. Who was it? One of the professorial types, Rod said afterward.

Meditation is a state of self-induced total relaxation, so complete that one is unwilling to relinquish the comfort and exhilaration produced, to return to the mundane and responsible activities surrounding us. No matter how deep the meditation, there comes a time when we must resume our responsibilities. In the meantime, the possibilities of the universe are ours to explore.

9-21-84 The other evening on the telephone the subject turned to Ryan, and I said to Rod I hoped he wasn’t jealous, but then how could he be jealous of somebody he couldn’t see. "Oh, but I
