About this ebook
In Him, titled after the exciting revelation in John 17:20-23 that we can be in Him, presents an inspiring collection of heartfelt poetry written by Mary Johnson at age ninety. Between the ages of eighty and ninety, she wrote three books, covering them lovingly with wallpaper, so she could give them freely to everyone. In Him is the last of her three books, though the first to be published in Marys memory by her children. Praising Him will be published soon, then Just Meditating.
Marys poetry shares her personal relationship with her Savior. Some poems simply give praise to the Lord. Many poems speak of Jesus cruel death on the cross. She told of looking forward to heaven and of being sure you are going there. She gave glory to God who created man and our miraculous bodies. She examines prophecies regarding the end times, always pointing to the Bible and Jesus example for our lives.
Her lifetime of Bible study and love of the Scripture is evident in her poetry. Through this knowledge, she referenced her poetry to the passage that inspired it. Marys faith and dedication to her Savior was demonstrated through her life of service and giving to others. Her life was an inspiration to her family, her numerous church friends and her community. Her family is blessed to be able to share their mothers gift of poetry with you.

In Him - Mary W. Johnson
EASY AND LIGHT
Jesus said to come to Him
And He would give me rest.
I took Jesus up on that
And found His rest the best.
And then He said to take His yoke
On Him and learn of Him.
I tried that, too, and learned that He
Takes all the load on Him.
He said that He was meek and lowly,
And I’d find rest for my soul.
My soul has rested in my Lord
From childhood until I’m old.
I found His yoke not only easy,
I found His burden is light.
As I have rested my soul on Him,
All day, every day, and all night.
If you have not believed in Jesus,
You don’t know what you’re missing.
He is God of the universe,
And He is worth a listen.
Matthew 11:28-30
CONFESSION
I look at my life
And I’m so ashamed,
Of sins that only
To God I have named.
You look at my life
And you think I’m good,
For you see me doing
Only things that I should.
You look at me
And only see part.
Jesus looks at me
And He sees my heart.
He sees the things
That from Him I can’t hide,
Like when I was ashamed
Of the truth, and I lied.
He sees when I
Don’t care for my
