    LOVE

    The ocean took a handful of sand,

    And threw it back, to play;

    The raindrops tickled the rose petals,

    And made them laugh all day;

    Fluffy clouds washed the face of the Sun,

    And let it shine that way.

    God gave all these beautiful views

    For he liked me to pray.

    He answered my prayers for heaven, too;

    That day you came my way.

    THE MEETING

    The beautiful maiden caught his eye,

    But stood apart because he was shy.

    It was then she saw he could not talk,

    And so she asked, "Would you like to walk?

    Startled by her voice, his face turned red.

    His throat constricted, no word he said,

    With swallowed smile, he nodded his head.

    Turning to the walkway, best he could,

    Sensed her try to ease his discomfort,

    And her compassion captured his heart.

    Attracted by his honest kindness,

    She saw the strength of his gentleness.

    His breath caught and knew he was in love;

    They neared her home and came the walk’s end,

    Softly thanked her for being his friend.

    She sighed, "Could we meet again and talk?

    Then made a date for another walk.

    Life is made up of such highs as this,

    Wonderful moments of happiness.

    A ROSE

    A rose is like love

    Unfolding in the sunlight

    Into caring fellowship.

    The scent is romance

    As it flows from soft petals

    With lingering aromas.

    Rainbows of color

    Crown our life’s roses in bloom

    And add delight to our love.

    So I’ll hold, with care,

    Such a delicate flower

    Of my heart’s presence with you.

    SPIRIT FLIGHT

    I’ve flown the skies without measure

    In joyous vicarious pleasure,

    Enjoying the preview?
