About this ebook

Through solitary church planting, zealous individuals can go out and plant churches without waiting for church funding. This book, Solitary Church Planting, shows how this has been adequately demonstrated by first-century biblical apostle Paul and our own contemporary brother Paul Monday of Nigeria. Experiential in the main, the book illustrates most of the academic principles of the subject with Rev. Dr Paul Choms personal adventure in different regions of West Africa, planting scores of churches and getting them adopted by various Christian ministries. Persecution is an integral part of missions activities, which should not only be endured but actually be expected by any missionary that knows his onions.

    DEDICATION

To God be the glory, great things He has done. With a heart full of praise and thanksgiving to God Almighty, I dedicate this book to Him and all my partners in life and ministry. Special thanks go to my wife, Celly K. Chom, who stood by me through thick and thin in many years of ministry. I thank God for my children, Weng, Teyei, Gabik Jere, and Dagwi Asirwat, for their patience whenever I am out of the house to the mission field. I won’t forget brother Solomon Kandi, for his financial support; Justic Sha, Pastor Chris Bature, for their encouragement; and Rev. Habila Kohol, who was my project supervisor during my BDD programme and with whose help this book came to reality. Of course I won’t forget Rev. Dr Frank Fred, who edited the first manuscript of this book, and very special thanks to Euni Adeleye Joel, who encouraged me to embark on the book work, as well as my publishers in Xlibris Publishers UK. I say a big thanks and the glory of God will continue to shine upon your lives in Jesus’ name. Thanks a lot.

This book is also dedicated to all my missionaries out there in the field, both in Sierra Leone and Nigeria, as well as all COCIN CCM Missionaries, and all lovers of missionary work.

Great is thy faithfulness, oh, Lord.

    FOREWORD

The victory that Jesus Christ had when He resurrected, prepared the way for believers to be assigned the responsibility that will not let that glorious victory go in vain. When the risen Christ met His disciples, He commanded them to …….go….. and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father … the Son….. and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things…. (Matt.28:16-20), so that he who believes and is baptized will be saved, but he who does not believe will be condemned. (Mark 16:15-16). He also said to them… As the Father has sent Me, I also send you (John 20:21).

To give power to the disciples to carry out this command effectively, Jesus promised them that ….When the power of the Holy Spirit has come upon them, they will be witnesses to Me (Jesus) in Jerusalem… In Judea… in Samaria and to the end of the earth (Acts 1:8). A promise He Fulfilled on the Day of Pentecost (Acts 2:1-4).

Undoubtedly, the Lord Jesus Christ gave humanity,
