Joseph Maverick Nyambu

Joseph Maverick Nyambu was born on 14th March, 1984 in Taita, Kenya. He has a First Class Bcom Degree from Catholic University of Eastern Africa, also a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants (K) residing in Nairobi, Kenya. He’s currently working as a Senior Financial (Credit) Analyst in a renowned motor vehicle assembly and selling firm. An avid reader and explorer of poetic literature (poetrature), Nyambu relishes his passion in creative writing which ultimately led to his first poetry book, “Sparkling Mortal Passions”.

I dedicate this book to God Almighty for enabling me discover my true passion, and for letting me share my written thoughts with the world. To my dearest parents, Mr. Walter Madedo & Mrs. Vallery Mezoya, to my entire family, mostly to Kate & Valentine. They helped me dream a reality, to dream is a surreal feeling always, but to live the dream is a magical emotion that’s expressionless in words.

Introduction

The book consists of a hundred poems of mixed themes, a perfect blend of life’s variation. The title Sparkling Mortal Passions, emanates from the fact that these poems all resonate with humanity, mortal emotions, muses, ambience of nature, political and social dynamics… it’s like a literary voyage from the soft dune shores to the vast ocean scape of life. The poems mirror the sky of mortality, a composition of unified diversity, and as always variety is the spice of life.

I was inspired by my own experiences, my perceptions of life in both its intrinsic and sometimes whimsical form, and also from experiences of others; people’s opinions, books I have read, and everything else that enticed and sparked my flames of creativity. They are all woven in rhyme because I simply relish the harmonious cadence of rhymed words, yet I enjoy all sorts of poetry regardless of style but rich in content.

The most unique aspect of writing this book is because it made me realize and actuate the sparks of my true passion—creative writing. It’s the most special way I find that seamlessly explicates my subtle being to my readers, and helps them comprehend a side of me if not for poetry, maybe no one else except my intimacy would have known. It’s like a virtual replication, a mirror that reflects me through the readers’ minds and also duplicates their vision of me through their discretionary insight.
