About this ebook

You Are Not Alone is a reflection of a stream of feelings and thoughts that all of us experience in life.

These feelings and thoughts are those we experience when we go through failed and successful relationships, when we lose loved ones, when money is tight, when we sympathise with victims of drugs or violence or a natural disaster, when we think about mother nature, when we think about politics during election time, when we suffer the actions of evil people, and when we worry about our family affairs.

You Are Not Alone provides the words we need to lift our spirits up when we feel down or lonely; words to calm us down when we are frustrated or angry; words that give us hope when life gets tough; firm words to wake us up when we slip to the wrong way in life.

I hope that you enjoy the book and always remember that you are not alone.

    Acknowledgement

Many thanks to my work mates at intensive care unit in one of Sydney’s hospitals. Without their feedback, this book wouldn’t have been possible.

Two years ago, I had no idea that my writings would be published. I didn’t even keep what I was writing. The turning point came when a number of my colleagues read some of what I wrote, liked them, and encouraged me to keep and publish them.

I’m also thankful to be part of human life with all its sadness and happiness, its grief and joy.

Thanks to my teenage friends who directed my attention to think about life, not just to live it.

Last and not least, thanks to my parents who brought me to life and to all my family for their love and support.

    be strong, don’t withdraw

It is normal to have a bruise or a scar . . .

but you’ve got to set the bar . . .

don’t carry the burden too far

Don’t let it hurt for too long . . .

cope by listening to a nice song

    Go to the beach . . .

relax and think of a solution you can reach

    Sit in a park . . .

try to think on the bright side not the dark

    Be an optimist . . .

    not a pessimist

Think that you are not alone . . .

    every human being is prone.

    Success Prescription

Be confident, but don’t think you are the best . . .

    Do your best, but don’t volunteer to a test . . .

Get out politely what is on your chest . . .

Use your brain not your fist . . .
