About this ebook
It highlights the challenges faced due to the choices made and the consequent setbacks, stagnancy or growth.
This book seeks to paint a picture for the reader of the emotional turmoil encounter from an early age that has the ability to trap you in a particular state of existence for years to follow. The impact on my Christian walk and the resulting cycle of unrest and indecisiveness inspired this poetry.
The cycle of emotional instability is broken upon my return to the presence of God with the elevation to a place of peace and growth in all areas of my life.

Emotions - Jean Bedward
Emotions
Emotions are like a sea
Which can take you by surprise
Its roots are embedded deeply
Taking control of our lives
It traps your mind, and controls your thoughts
And will change the environment you are in
It takes away clarity, it brings you no sight
No vision, no hope, no strategy to cope
No peace, no joy because it tries to destroy
The real you that you were and now to be no more
You’re controlled by the state of the emotion you spin
You’re a poppet in your body, you feel you just cannot win
You are a prisoner of your feelings and a servant to your moods
You are a product of your thinking going nowhere too soon
You are heavy burdened, Just wanting to escape
But the doors won’t open, to allow you that break
So you sit and you think and you wonder all day
Will I ever see freedom, coming my way
But today if you will hear, and open up your ears
You will realize this cycle is to torment and to scare
So do not sit in pity, or be a victim of your past
For you will only receive when you can begin to believe
That this sea of emotion will not set you free
Unless you
Change your way of thinking, change your view of life
Instead of become a victim become a victor in the fight (9th April 2013)
James 1:7-8
