    The Way Things Should Be

    Life’s Long Journey

    Amid life’s stormy blast,

    One lone soul is cast,

    To give one’s only past,

    To age, but not fast.

Where the journey always tempts fate,

    Knowledge always comes too late,

In the vast expanse once through the gate,

One can only hope to meet a true mate.

Many a time, true feelings are felt

Only to find they make one melt,

    When circumstances aren’t fairly dealt,

But are met with modesty, grace and guilt.

A life can be lived with love and need,

    Not with arrogance or greed;

It would behoove all of us to heed

Life’s lessons on how to feed.

If all could live life to the fullest and not get lost

In the shuffle, hustle and bustle we see most,

There’d be much praise indeed for the insurgent Host,

That Host being the Holy Ghost.

We are here but a moment in time,

Not to work together is certainly a crime,

To live, to love, to give of ourselves would be sublime,

Which would give the needed hope to those in line.
