Junior S. Jackson
Junior Stennett Jackson is currently attending Valdosta State University in Valdosta, Georgia. Junior’s aspiration is to be a public servant, and by doing that, he hopes to contribute to the bettering of the world. Junior was born in Paterson, New Jersey, on March 19, 1991, to Tonia Jackson and Stennett Donavon Woodfine. Stennett died on December 22, 1990, after suffering a complication from an operation he had. Junior’s mom was a single mother who worked and went back to school—all while raising a child with a disability. At the age of four, Junior was diagnosed with cancer in his left leg, and as a result, his left leg had to be amputated. But Junior’s lack of a leg has not stopped him. Junior played golf all four years of high school and picked up jogging as a hobby. Junior’s mom, Tonia, has always encouraged her son to be himself and to uplift others. Junior and his mom moved to Atlanta, Georgia, in 1999 and currently still reside in the Atlanta area. Junior was always a positive person, and growing up with a disability wasn’t as hard as people would think. Communicating and mingling with others was very easy, and Junior often enjoyed the spotlight. Junior has always had a craving to help others, and because of that, he dreams of one day being the president of the United States of America. Human interaction is something Junior has really valued in his life, and he believes that is what has made him so ambitious. Junior’s goal with this book is to get people talking again to one another because interpersonal communication is what Junior believes can and will restore the world.

Why I Wrote This Book
When the idea of writing a book first entered my mind, I was in a very difficult place in my life. I had just been arrested for marijuana DUI. And for the first time in my life, I was in a place where I was not the one in control. This was the first time I had ever had a run-in with the law, and I was really ashamed of myself. But it wasn’t being behind bars that motivated me to make this book a reality, but it was me knowing that I was better than this place I was now a resident of.
Since the age of fourteen, I have been looking for a job, and now at the age of twenty, I still haven’t had any luck at securing a job position. And before I was able to find a job, I was able to find myself behind bars. I have made mistakes that I regret deeply, but my situation in life will only get better when I start looking for a better situation. Life can be very scary, but I want more out of my life, and this book is my first step to going after more. People can believe in you all they want, but sometimes, their actions contradict their words. So the only sure way to know that your best interest is at heart is for you to be more involved than anyone who is willing to help you or who is helping you. In the end, it is all up to you. That’s why I’m here. Because I’m making it my time, and your time could be up next. You just need to move. I have always done the right things in my life, but most times they go unnoticed—like most people.
This book symbolizes a great deal of things to me; frustration is one of those symbols. Frustration with the world and our unwillingness to care about others, or the unwillingness to give someone a chance when all that is needed is opportunity. But I stopped being frustrated and just took action.
The United States—the only place I have ever called home—has been like that wicked stepmother who shows you an immense amount of love when your father or others are around. But when alone with you, she bites and kicks you with the intent to break your spirit and crush your heart.
I have always had the drive and the capacity to do whatever it was that was placed in front of me. But there was never a person willing to give me the opportunity to show my worth. I have been the subject of doubts and intense criticisms from peers and adults who I once looked up to. I have always just done my best and hoped that someone would notice me. But I am to the point where I have maxed out my credit, and now I’m looking for a return.
The average American story starts with very little or nothing at all, and my story is the same. With all the misfortunes and hindrances I have encountered, I should be unhappy and miserable; but I believe the people that I have come in contact with throughout my life has molded me into this clay of hope, love, and ambition that is Junior Jackson.
Everyone is so stunned that I had the courage and boldness to write a book. I understand why—but then again, why not? I am a very positive person, and I want to share that with everyone. My go-after-your-desire attitude is a product of human interaction. People’s conversations, people sharing their personal problems and their personal thoughts with me… That’s what gave me the strength to write this book:
