About this ebook

I was born in January the year of 1934 to Dave, Ethel Ashby Estep. The first of their children of four. My father was a coal miner and was killed in a roof rock fall in 1942. My mother remarried a few years later and had a total of nine children. My mother was a God loving woman and had a lot to do with the way I have lived my life and the man I am today.
I have spent most of my working life as an Industrial Electrician but have done about every kind of work that the hands can do. I have been blessed by God to have been what they call a handyman.
I started writing songs when I was about 73 years old and they just keep on coming to me after I bought a guitar seems I would hear the strings saying the words of the song. I got my first guitar when I was about fourteen years old but hadnt played for many years.
I have been blessed by God all through my life with a family that I love with all my heart and they have loved and blessed me with so many grandchildren and now the family is growing with many great grandchildren I can hardly keep up with the number. It does the heart good to hear the word grandpa.
So, to everyone who bought my first book and may buy or read this song book, love one another and this world will be a much better place. And put your trust in God to make it that way.

I would like to dedicate this song book to my beautiful and loving wife Phyllis for the last sixty years. To my family and friends who enjoy my singing, guitar playing and encourage me to write songs that reflect my love for the old style of country and bluegrass music and to those that purchased book number one.

Playing, writing and putting cords to the country and bluegrass music I write is a joy to my life, it is never work, just the natural thing to do.

Many thanks to the folks out at Brinks music barn just outside of Gibsonburg, Ohio and to the Segaard family of Gypsum, Ohio. The musicians at both places have been a great inspiration to me and have helped me learn to play the guitar better and stay in the right cord without kicking me off stage when I was in the wrong key. Thanks to everyone!

A special thanks to Vernon and Jeanie Brink, Dave and Joan Segaard who have these beautiful large barns for the purpose of playing this beautiful music that we play for the entertainment of everyone that comes. They never charge folks a dime but do appreciate a small donation to keep the place running for those that can.

I thank God that he has given such a good community of people in the village of Gibsonburg, Gypsum, Ohio. I truly believe that music soothes the soul and makes life worth living. If we just slow down and listen to words of the songs and hear the beautiful sound of the strings of the acoustic instruments that we play our hearts will be filled with love and joy.

I hope you find a song or two in this second book that will touch the heart of someone and help them to enjoy the simple music I write, sing and play.

God has blessed me with a long life of music and a fine country to raise my family. We Americans live in the land of the free and we should never take our freedom for granted. What a blessing to live and worship Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in our places of worship and in our homes.

    Thank you very much

    And God bless you all
