I was asked to go to church by my granny, who at the time was watching me because my parents were out o...view moreAs a child of God, I was first introduced into the church at the young age of four years old. I was asked to go to church by my granny, who at the time was watching me because my parents were out of town. She told me that I needed to hear what God and Jesus were going to tell me within my heart. But at that time, I didn’t even know what my heart was, much less who she was talking about or who these people were who were going to talk to me.
Being the adventurist soul that I was, off I went to church with my granny. I wasn’t scared because I had my granny beside me, though I was very eager to see why she wanted me to go with her. I also wanted to meet these people just to find out what they had to say to Granny and me.
Little did I know at the time that these people that she had mentioned to me—God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit—were not the people who would be speaking to me directly in person, but indirectly. However, a really nice pastor read aloud from a book called the Holy Bible.
As the years passed, I would attend a lot of different churches and go to small Bible studies from time to time whenever I could. The more I became interested in God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit, the more I wanted to get to know exactly what it was the Bible was saying to me.
At twelve years old, I came very close to death after I hit a tree while sledding. At the ages of twenty-six and twenty-seven, I had two more near-death experiences from a rare blood-clotting disorder called factor Leiden V deficiency. From those three different times of being on the edge of this life, I have come to know that there is a God. He has a Son, and His name is Jesus Christ. There is a Holy Spirit. Now at the age of forty-four, I want to let everyone know that I alive because of my faith in God, and my life will forever belong to Jesus. God Bless all of us. Amen.view less
