About the Author
Born in the year 1999, Palak was the first child to her industrialist parents. Born and brought up in Central India, she has an extraordinary memory and logical reasoning according to her mother.
Currently finishing off her high school in grade twelve, she is an incredible athlete and has been winning various accolades for the same for the last eight years now. She is a strongly academically inclined girl and has been winning awards for her credentials. Serving in the prefectorial board of her school, she has been representing her school in on-screen quiz contests, round square conferences, and various model United Nations in renowned institutions throughout the globe.
She is a very ambitious girl who wants to graduate from her ideal college in business management, and aspires to become an entrepreneur in the future. At such a young age, she is a certified international yoga instructor, and wishes to spread it’s aspects in modern lives globally. She’s been researching on the topic ‘causes of gadget addiction’ deeply and has been trying to eradicate this evil phenomenon through the calming practise of yoga. After an in depth analysis of various methods and relating yoga to every aspect of gadgets, she finally came up and shared her views with such a large audience through writing.
Writing a book on de-addiction would have been impossible without thinking like an addict. Thankfully, this girl had the potential to think from that perspective and produce such a justified piece.
Preface
My mother always cautioned me about this dangerous disorder of gadget addiction. She cribbed me constantly for giving up my phone and limited my hours online. I have always grown up wondering as a child what exactly gadget addiction is, and why is it such a detrimental phenomenon for me or for any individual for that matter.
This topic has long been my research topic, and I have tried to link it with every aspect of my life in order to compare its causes, effects, and significance in my life. Whilst noticing my own technological usage, I realised the influence of my practise of yoga on my online behavioral issues. Yoga has always been a significant part of my life and has helped me to almost totally eradicate the consumption of electronic devices. Not only this, it has played a major role in minimizing the effects of daily usage of some technical gadgets. Through this calming practise, de-addiction can be extremely easy and very helpful in the long run. Yoga is one of the most relaxing and stress-relieving practises, which has no possible drawbacks, and can help any human being to improve both mind and body.
In this generation, I strongly feel that it is an utmost necessity for each of us to lessen our dependence on these technological gadgets in order to avoid getting overly addicted and then facing numerous deleterious effects. Everyone must understand that a few minutes spent on improving your mind and body is much more beneficial than wasting hours and hours on destructive tools. Personally, even I never understood how negatively my laptop or my mobile was influencing me, but once my practise of constantly checking updates decreased, I realised how I was improving my life and focusing on things that actually matter. So one never admits about the problem, but it’s there, and it is better to avoid it.
