CHAPTER 1
F elix Radebe is 33 years old who is a civil Engineer Lecturer from one of the Cape Town University as he obtained the masters degree in the field, and he attended the junior Engineer training at the age of 23 years, he qualified as the civil Engineer and worked for three years in the post as the qualified Engineer and quit to become a Lecturer due to the love of teaching. Something that makes him to love the current job so much it’s due to flexible hours he is working as most of the time he spend in his house while student are in the Libraries studying independently, that also gives him enough time to do some other things such as going to the Mall while some places are still open such as the Banks for instead.
His wife Nokuzola is 30 years old and she’s a medical Doctor by profession as they’ve been married for seven years as they started dated while they were still students in the University they both studied to, and she still works for a private Hospital as she is still dreaming of having her own building complex in which her Surgery will be there as well. The lay out will be in such a way that it will have various structures that will have other medical Practitioners such as Dentist, Psychiatrist, Pharmacist, Physiotherapy and so on, as all will be renting to her, as she will appoint the Manager to manage it while she still practice as a Doctor. Nokuzola is a very beautiful women from a Xhosa tribe and soft spoken person but very severe. Felix is also a Xhosa guy and that made their kids speaks both Xhosa and English fluently.
The Radebe family have their twins daughters who are 6 years old, which is Zinzi and Zanele they’re also very beautiful as they resemble their look with their mother, the family is living in a lavish suburb in Cape Town called Constantia and their maid it’s Judith Khalo who is 28 years old. As they are living in a quiet suburb that got many trees and beautiful plants around it, and that makes it friendly to the species of birds as they’re flying around the atmosphere without harmful gases, and they sing vividly without a fear of being killed by human and, that give peace to the street of Constantia as you rarely see people moving around unlike the down town of Cape Town as there is too much obstreperous as people are walking and rushing to their different destination in all direction, and it supported by the same thing coming from different types of vehicles that it oscillate 24 hours.
The Radebe family have eminent friends such as the Mayor of Cape Town
Mr Thamsaqa Ngece who is 42 years old and he is also married with a Municipal Manager who is reporting to him and her name it’s Lucia and she is 38 years. The Radebe family usually jog prior going to work and attend a gym after work, the children are attending to one of the fancy private schools and they commute with Judy Khalo their maid by driving them as they knock off early prior the arrival of their parents. As the parents are jogging they’re synchronizing by chatting as the form of relieving stress prior facing their respective jobs and Nokuzola is exhorting her husband on orientating his job to a private sector or working for the Municipality of Cape Town as the civil Engineer for a better payment.
‘Honey have you considered of going back to the private sector to your old job as the civil Engineer for a better payment, instead of the low paying job you’re working right now, I don’t undermine you by so saying and please don’t get me wrong I’m just concerned about our well being, I mean honey you’re worth more than that. Of what I just said it does not make you a less man but I’m saying this as your advisor and your neck as you’re the head of this family, all of these I’m saying with great respect by humbling myself to you.’ Said Nokuzola
‘We’ve spoke about this over and over time before, I told you my position. I don’t love that job, there is too much nonsense and I relish the peace I’m in right now and, my health has improved since then as I used to have brake down with heart condition during that time. Look at us right now, we’re jogging in which I rarely done as most of the time I spent in the office.’ Said Felix
‘Your situation it’s now stable, and let’s not forget that the heart condition that you’re talking about you’re born with it, don’t forget that you married the Doctor who is good in her field, I will look after you my love. I’m not saying this to sign the death warrant to you, but all I’m saying it’s that as your partner I will work with you in absorbing the pressure by referring you to my crony who’s a Psychiatrist who will help you on dealing with work stress, and once that happen you will realize that all jobs are the same as it depends how you view it, as you will realize that all got stress at it’s own level. As much as you’re comfortable in your current job then your life will be stagnant because your mind is resisting change and that my love it’s not healthy at all.’ Said Nokuzola
‘Honey I know that my pay it’s very little in such an extend that you’re managing most of our financial expenses by yourself but, I’ve suggested against coming to Constantia for an affordable suburb for middle class people such as us. Where we come from schools were nearby, but now we’re forced to have three cars to transport our kids to far distance schools. As there not much activities here we’re also forced to go on fancy vacations to match the standard of this area and by so doing we lost our own value.
I’m not running away from my responsibilities as a man but at least let’s consider all these facts that
I’ve mentioned to move back where we come from and restart our lives again. You see people have perception that all people living in fancy suburbs and estates are all rich but some are in fact masquerading and poor behind closed doors and please do not have a misconception about this it’s only my sentiment.’ Said Felix
Nokuzola got a sudden a negative response as she hears that from her husband and she was agitated by that.
‘Never! What will people think of us? It will portray us as failures, what about our children who’re very much used to this life style, are you willing to fail your daughters for not standing up as a man? No I won’t allow such talks coming from a man, our children should look up to you as their role model. You should set up a good statue to the entire
