Akshaya Kumar Das

Sri Akshaya Kumar Das is a budding poet of the present generation. Sri Das was born in the village Bharagole under Tirtol PS of Jagatsinghpur District of Orissa, India, born to Sri Batakrushna Das and Smt. Satyabhama Das on 9 September 1957. His childhood was spent mostly in the village. Sri Das did his matriculation from Nuabazar High School, Cuttack, Orissa. Sri Das had to face the turbulence of life from youth. Being the second child to his parents shouldered the responsibilities from the age of fifteen. A self-made person, Sri Das started working at the age of fifteen, standing as support to the family. Sri Das presently works as a manager in a government PSU, United India Insurance Co. Ltd., Bhubaneswar, Orissa, India. He completed his education from Ravenshaw Evening College ,Cuttack and law degree from MS Law College, Cuttack, under Utkal University, Orissa, India. Sri Das has a passion for writing from his college days.

Being the 2nd Child to his parents shouldered the responsibilities from the age of 15.A self-made person Sri Das started working at the age of 15. Sri Das has two sons named Abhisek & Sashank. Many of his poems were published in a blog created in the rediffiland.com written between the period 2007 to 2010.

Sri Das aspires to complete the noble mission of spending his retired life to writing & specially to English poetry. Preface

While writing the preface we have to take a look at the life of the poet which itself Passed through bitter struggles from a very early age. Writing poems has been a Passion since adolescence. From a very young age the poems are written in the His diaries. There was no medium then excepting the Illustrated Weekly which used To publish very few poems besides The Telegraph weekend Magazine. It was Absolutely difficult to find a medium to bring those poems to the limelight.

The inspirations come from a disturbed childhood & a turbulent adolescence of Full of struggle. In most of them an imprint of frustration is beautifully depicted.

But due to a positive attitude towards life the poet has tried to accommodate himself With any given situation that has come in his life without blaming anyone Responsible for the same. Never regretting for what is accomplished or what is not.

The Poet today stands in a fairly better position overcoming the hurdles of time, life & love. The poet was an avid reader of the Time, Life & Fortune Magazine during Youth in the Office library. The poems of Emily Dickinson was the first poem which Affected the poet much No trust you dear trifling sea. Finally feeling that life Has given everything to him in the form of poetry. Life to him is a beautiful poem.

Struggles are part of life which the poet has overcome fearlessly with a finish.

Before publishing this book the Poet has published many of his works in Facebook.

In fact Facebook gave him the platform to establish himself as a poet of the 21st Century. The accolades from the readers poured in to the take the poet to a fathomless soul searching to realize at a later age that his works have a depth in the content with truth & sublime love.
