Description
In the eternal words of Apocalypse Now, "The Horror. The Horror." And, in the immortal words of the Terminator, "I know now why you cry. But it's something I can never do." And of course, in the undying words of Jack Dawson, "Promise me, Rose. And never let go of that promise." Today, we understand Halloween and the Day of the Dead a little bit better as we grow more comfortable with the spirit realm. Today, we take a very serious game very seriously. Today, we review This War of Mine. This game is unfair. It's a constant fight for survival and against entropy in a war-torn city. A fight made by unready civilians. It inspires more stories about death than it does about hope. We spar about the caliber of its stories and trials. In what's hopefully brighter speculation, we review the solo games that do not cause us existential dread while playing. Where the movement of chits and pawns does not inspire us to stare out our windows forlornly. These are games that rise above and occupy us fully. Yet somehow we can't even agree on this.
