Brittney E. Bibbs serves as leader of Ladies Lounge, a program she began in which young girls are uplifted and changed through positive and life-changing mentorship. In this capacity, she encourages and strengthens adolescent and young adult girls to live for the Lord. She is also a praise and worship prophetic psalmist at the Body of Christ Ministries (TBOC) in Memphis, Tennessee. Likewise, she serves as Spanish teacher in a middle school in Memphis and, in that role, impacts her students for Christ! Her passion is to inspire and encourage young adults to accept the salvation, validation, and love that Christ offers. Her hope is to encourage believers to awaken the God-given destiny that lives in them. She is active in prayer for the nations and hungry to see each believer fulfill his or her kingdom purpose.

I must begin by thanking the Lord for pushing me forward. For always accepting me as daughter and for never letting me be put to shame. It is due to the sacrifice of Christ and the counsel of Holy Spirit that I am, and that I strive to daily meet His call.

I thank my Mommie! She has been my best friend, confidant and wise counsel. She’s taught me to trust the Lord and to continually move forward by faith! I’m so thankful that she’s in my life.

I appreciate my pastors, my spiritual mothers and fathers who have prayed and have spoken Godliness over my life!

1 Purpose

G od has given each of us great purpose! The purpose of this book is to allow Holy Spirit to speak to you and to lead and guide you into His plan for your life! I pray that you will permit the words printed in this book to be encouragement and strength to you. God has your destiny in His hands and He knows exactly who you are. By trusting Him, you can live the destiny that He has for you and you can meet His call!

Destiny is commonly understood as this future stage of life when each of us will finally reach our potential. It is that far off time when God will reveal all that He has destined for our lives and we each, will subsequently accomplish and develop into the person that He has always intended. Yet, I propose that we can live out our Destiny right now, in this very moment. The compilation of living out His plan each day is what the Lord uses to help us reach our ‘Destiny’. Each day that we trust God and obey Him, we live His destiny for that day! (Mat 6:34) It is imperative that we realize that in order to encounter God’s Destiny for us, we must meet the call of Christ. We gotta answer the phone! We must answer the call to righteousness and selflessness that the Lord requires of us. In essence, the call of Christ is synonymous with true destiny. Answer His call and awaken the gifts that He has given you to fulfill YOUR Destiny!

My prayer is that you will allow Holy Spirit to shift your conceptualization and your understanding of Destiny so that you may begin to walk in the purpose that God has for you. Remember that the Lord has already planned your days and you need not worry! Take courage and tap in to the destiny of God for you!

"This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go. (Joshua 1:9)

This book tackles many aspects of (young) adult life, and many of them were written right in the moment that I was going through them. Holy Spirit used the sensitivity of these times in my life to write this book. The scripture, He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us", (2 Cor. 1:4) is so very true for me and is the underlying theme of this book. In every trouble that I have faced, God comforted me and now, I extend that comfort to you!

Allow Holy Spirit to do His work in your life and I believe that you too, will be able to encourage others so that God is glorified in all the Earth. You will be able to encourage others to meet Christ’s call and live out your God-ordained Destiny!

Let us now begin with a problem that plagues many people, young and old.

2 Daddy Issues

A t age 23, my life story was one of many accomplishments but some hurts too! I had graduated valedictorian from a catholic high school named Bishop Byrne. I was accepted and finished my undergraduate degree at Vanderbilt University. During my undergraduate studies, I lived, studied and traveled in South America for five months. I visited places like Brazil, Perú, Uruguay and I had lived in Argentina. Afterwards, I began a Masters program at the University of Memphis and I was teaching Spanish courses there. I had learned new languages, made new friends, seen and understood other ways of life. But, I had not conquered one major aspect of life
