About this ebook

Dreaming is a collection of poems relating to experiences that, throughout our journey in life, have participated in a personal way or have known someone in our lives who, as readers, can connect and relate to these poems in this book.

The emotional roller coaster, as some may call it. And, as you read, you may state, “This poem is exactly what happened to me” or “I’ve been there before.” To have experienced so many different parts of the heart is a given lesson that we embrace and take with us in any kind of relationship we encounter. That understanding, being in a relationship, has many emotions of the heart that we play a role in throughout our journey in life. And, as you read these poems, you will find that place in your heart that will connect to these words.

Hello, my name is Debi. I am sixty years of age, and I have two amazing children—Amber Elizabeth, age fourteen, and my son, Steven Samuel, eight. I call my children my light and life because that’s just what they are and what they mean to me. I have been writing poems since the 1980s. A lot of these poems I can relate to and have a personal connection to. At the age of forty-eight, I was diagnosed with demyelinating disease of the brain, spine, and also autoimmune diseases. The combination of the two is almost I mute to have; 0.1 percent of Americans get one of them, not both. Right now, I’m fighting a very rare cancer called spindle cell carcinoma. I consider myself a very strong person who loves life and will fight the fight. Sometimes, in life, we are thrown curves in each stage of our journey, and it’s up to us to pick and choose how we want to handle those curves as they come at us. I’d rather fight the fight and move forward and never look back. Once you take that first, most important step, make sure your feet are grounded. My favorite sayings are “It’s OK for it not to be OK” and “Have a fab day.” Stay strong. Debi
