About this ebook

I first put pen to paper I did not realise I was writing poetry they were just words that Id held inside and needed to release. I wrote the first one in pencil so I could rub it out but as I started the words seem to leap out none stop on to the page. Reading them back the next morning I was surprised because it was as if they had been written by somebody elses telling my story I found it all a bit unreal.
My first poem came about after leaving home in secret with my children after many years of living with a very controlling and often angry man. Looking back I realise it was harder staying than finding the courage to leave. I now realise this courage is within all of us we just need to believe in ourselves.
The poems are a mixture of my life the thing Ive experiences and how love, loss and feelings affect me wrong or right. Though out this time Harry my dog was there with me always please to see me when coming home, often inspiring me on our walks and befriending me at lonely time thanks old friend

This is my first book, most of the poems were written many years ago, and they have been sitting in a book awaiting a time to be set free. My first poem is from back in a time when mine and my children’s lives were very different. Thankfully our lives are so much better now however I am aware that there are a lot of men and women living in similar circumstance I hope my word sow a seed of hope! Warm thanks to my family and friends who help and support me especially my grown up children who I am very proud of they are great individuals. Also my sister who bought my faithfully dog harry for me, he was only 5 weeks old when we meet, an abandon chocolate lab cross puppy. I am now remarried to a kind and gentle man the journey to find him has had high and lows learning to trust my own judgment was not easy that’s why there were a few frogs alone the way. I think myself lucky I’m enjoying life and now have two young Labradors who bring such fun, laughter and lots of mud in to my life.
