Sheryl Griffin
Sheryl Griffin’s mission is to share hope. In 2007, Sheryl suffered a severe panic attack, which led to the diagnoses of post-traumatic stress disorder, along with panic and anxiety. This led her on a quest to find answers to the many questions she had regarding her past, her choices, and things that happened to her. She slowly began to recognize patterns in her life:1. Always taking responsibility for others choices and behaviors.2. Putting things under the rug-never confronting.3. Ignoring red flags in relationships. She began to journal at her doctor’s request, and she soon realized God had a much bigger plan than simply helping her find the answers to the questions she sought. It is a plan that she never dreamed of, but it has become a purpose and passion in her heart. The purpose is clear: to share the message of hope and all that comes with it; grace, mercy, freedom, and forgiveness.Sheryl tells her story at retreats and conferences at women’s and family events to large and small groups. Her book, A Scarlet Cord of Hope, chronicles her journey and serves as an encouragement to others struggling with depression, stress, anxiety, and guilt. Through her own testimony, Sheryl helps others break free from shame and fear through the love of Christ and a biblical perspective.Sheryl has extensive experience and training in Early Childhood Education and has had opportunities to nurture and teach children for over twenty years, and she has also been actively involved in children, youth, and women's ministry.Originally hailing from Northern California, Sheryl now lives in Tennessee with her husband Doug whom she has been married to since May 1996. They have two children. You may have heard about Sheryl on Doug's Nationally Syndicated Family Friendly Morning Show: Doug and Jaci Velasquez.

This book was conceived with the intention of sharing the ups and downs of love, and everything in between from a bipolar perspective of intensity…. the dark depressions, the loneliness, the raw emotions, broken hearted disappointments and frustrations to the elation of hope and possibilities. I want this book to make people think, to question their existence, to revitalize their hearts, to dare to dream, to offer the opportunity to believe in love, in yourself and in the higher power that continually lifts us above the pain and misery to show us the possibilities of love.
My heart concedes it has more than once believed in the fairy tale.
This edition of Poetic Ramblings is a compilation of many years and many relationships I have had during my lifetime. I tried to focus on the bittersweet beginnings and the more positive aspects and hope that love can inspire the heart to believe and if all else fails to have the faith and courage to try again.
The books title is a bit complex. Most of these poems came from the pain and devastation when love is lost, but no matter what I have always had hope. The emotional bliss that love provides rarely lasts a lifetime. In our minds we create the myth and only in our dreams and in fairy tales does anyone live happily ever after. But our hearts are foolish and can be easily convinced with each new endeavour that there is such a thing as forever. Sadly, in life only two things are guaranteed …….. birth and death….. and you experience them both alone. Therefore, we spend our entire lives searching for another half of something we have had within us the whole time. The journey towards love of self is evident in these pages and imperative for any kind of love to have any chance to survive and thrive.
This book is primarily
dedicated to my mother. She was my biggest fan but now she is gone. She watches from heaven as her legacy lives on. I am fulfilling a promise that I made to her, to publish another book, a hopeful ramblings edition. My mother always believed in me especially when my heart was broken and I didn’t believe in myself. She taught me what real love is and how to apply it to my life, my relationships and my family.
This book is also dedicated to my amazing children, Samantha and Christopher. They have always been there to pick up the pieces when my heart was shattered and smother me in the only true love I have ever known.
This edition of ramblings of course would not have been possible if it were not for all the people who touched my heart or my life with love. I would be remiss if I didn’t thank them all for their love, for lifting me up, letting me down and letting me go. To all those who loved me to death and those who did nothing but lie to me. It inspired the pages of this book and brought me to where I am in my life at this moment. It is my proof and evidence of my hearts resilience and my faith in once upon a time.
