    Preface

Dominic Farrenkopf is an imaginative genius whose creativity is boundless. He has inexhaustible energy for not only writing poetry but for his shifting characters and points of view. His rhyming four-line stanzas gather history, coupling it to absurdity to create stories filled with joy and life-lessons. Readers will find his work enjoyable and educational as well as literary and descriptive.

Flominic (Farrenkopf’s pen name) carries his poetic gift wherever he goes, whether it is to the public library story time, an assisted living facility tea party, or the poetry contest at the county fair. Occasionally circumspect, more often unrestrained, you will find Flominic everywhere.

    "In that one box

    he had those secret letters

    written by the gal

    who raised Irish Setters."

    My friend paused and saw

    I was starting to fade.

    "Stick with me, boy,

some fresh coffee I’ve just made."

    "I brewed this next pot

    to be even stronger

    ‘cause I’m ‘bout to make…

    this long story longer!"

    It was three a.m.

    kitty jumped on my head.

    I pulled back the blanket

    and crawled out of bed.

    I stumbled through the
