    PREFACE

Dominic Flominic Farrenkopf has this strange idea that poetry ought to rhyme. Maybe he picked it up from that playwright of Stratford-upon-Avon, who, at the end of a particularly dramatic action, would abandon his blank verse for a rhyming couplet. But, whereas Shakespeare seemed always to be serious, Flominic is usually whimsical. Still, his light touch of an everyday scene does not mean there is not a lesson to be learned from the twist he inflicts on you at the end. These are verses to be enjoyed and chuckled over, and returned to from time to time. Flom has a quirky, creative energy not seen in many, and it is not limited to writing. He is constantly dreaming up ridiculous things for us residents at Sapphire Lutheran Homes. And it is these things which keep us ancients alive and kicking. I know you will enjoy what he is saying directly, as well as the hidden insights which pop up when you cogitate a while.
