Foreword
I first heard of Doc Gelo from a fellow Travel Blogger, Edcel Suyo (www.soloflighted.com). During one of our casual bloggers’ meetings, he mentioned that there is this award winning travel blogger who recently relocated to Dubai and his name is Doc Gelo. Honestly, I didn’t know him, didn’t even follow his blog as well, but after that, I got curious and checked out all his posts.
From the first glance, I already knew that this guy is very passionate on what he does. His talent in capturing not just the scene but the heart of every destination, is truly remarkable. Since then, I started following all his adventures. Meeting him in person is a different story. I thought this award winning travel blogger will be snobbish, but I was surprised how humble he is. You can see the excitement in his eyes even in the simplest things (yes, even in samosas). No wonder that you can see the genuine intentions in all of his photographs.
If you’ve been following Doc Gelo’s blog, www.docgelo.com you surely have an idea already of what you can expect in his new book. #PeoplePlacesMemories will transport us to the beauty and wonder of Turkey, Malaysia, Thailand and our home, The
United Arab Emirates.
Just like his first book (and even better), you will see stories carefully and effectively relayed through his lenses. Of course, let’s not discount his brillantly articulated narratives, where each word symbolizes emotions, textures and colors. You will follow how Doc Gelo matures and how he sees things differently, through his eyes as a tourist, a nomad and as a resident.
Doc Gelo is one of those people who will inspire you to pack your bags and book
