For three decades, I have practiced healthy-food living and cleansing to achieve a better way to live than what was the accepted norm in diet and lifestyle. I thought I was above average in my approach to my family’s diet, but I knew something was missing in my diet with what was going on in my body’s reactions. I couldn’t concentrate, I was possessed by my salt and sugar cravings, and I was exhausted, pumping myself up with caffeine and sweets to survive the day. I had weight I couldn’t lose even with starving myself. I had incorporated grains, vegetables, salads, and fish, replacing most of the chicken and red meat every day, but I was still consuming an abundance of dairy products, breads, and (healthy) processed foods, which contained sugar and salt. I also had accepted high stress levels as part of life. I discovered that studies have linked stress to lowered immune system function, increased blood pressure and cholesterol levels, as well as altered brain chemistry, blood sugar levels, and hormonal balance.
I started by transitioning my diet into a program of simple, living nutritional foods and shakes that made an incredible difference in the way I feel. I applied what I have learned about the interconnectedness of the toxicity in our everyday world and the effects of the deficiencies of our foods and of chronic stress.
I never would have believed what a gift and how transformational it would be to eat the low-fat, plant-based, nutrient-rich foods and incorporate the nutritional science behind the products needed to supply what was missing. It connected me back to my body’s inner wisdom where I have seen and felt the results and the key to living a balanced
