Eye of My Mind

About this ebook
I tried my had at writing poetry in my teen years and took classes during my lifetime, ofjournalism and poetry writing, hoping to learn and improve my work.
My poems are of simple things that I have observed in my lifetime, or that have happened and became important in my mind.
These poems have been collecting and I finally decided to have them printed so I could leave them in a finished form for my children and grandchildren, hoping they would appreciate my thinking. If others would like to read them, I hope they would be encouraged to do the same for their children and friends, thus allowing them to look into your mind and enhance their understanding of the thought process of your minds.
Looking back I was amazed at the many historical and interesting things that have during my lifetime to me. And at the insistence of my children I have begun a journal of my lifetime, but I worked on my poems first.
I write of simple and singular things that have inspired and stuck in my mind over my lifetime. I also write of religious poems as my faith has always meant much to me and I make no apologies for that. As a singer, pianist, organist and choir director, I like rhyming and also hymn styles and childrens poems.
I dedicate these poems to my husband, the Rev. Louis F. Rush, who gave me my first book of blank pages in which to write. This book has gradually collected my poems over the years.
These poems are also for my wonderful children, ten grandchildren and their fantastic spouses. They are my greatest gifts from God and my reason for living.

I was born in New Orleans, LA in 1926. At the age of twelve years my father and mother moved back to their native state of Michigan, where I grew up on a farm. I became an elementary teacher in the parochial schools of our Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod. I met and married the Rev. Louis F. Rush in 1950, who graduated that year. We have four wonderful children and ten fine grandchildren. I am widowed and 87 years of age, as my husband died a few months before our 50th anniversary.
