THE SPIRIT…
Aberdineshire
A
nd so there shined a light above Balmoral
And in that beam were stairs cascading down,
Then she took His hand and began ascending,
Fulfilled her tasks to leave behind the crown.
Violet, blue, green, orange, red and indigo,
But in the last watch only light was seen,
Until on the wings of another morning,
It flew off with the spirit of the Queen.
In Aberdineshire in Scotland,
Land where mountains rise and gardens grow,
There’s a castle and a legend
Of a heroine from long ago.
Two sides of the sword of a tradition,
They can be hard to hold and to let go
And in the end, we are all only human,
The best of us will do the best we know.
Once upon a time there was a princess,
Like the stars aligned in a time and place,
Where above the blood, the treasure and power,
There rose a woman of such love and grace.
In Aberdineshire in Scotland,
Land where mountains rise and gardens grow,
There’s a castle and a legend,
Of a heroine from long ago.
And so there shined a light above Balmoral…
An Angel’s Birth
(The Challenger)
A
re you sitting comfortably?
There where the teacher used to be?
How could you know what you would see?
Or the lessons you would learn?
She smiled at you and said goodbye,
She was a spirit drawn to fly,
She dreamed of being in the sky,
But dreams can sometimes crash and burn.
Still in those brilliant sparks of grace
She found an everlasting place,
The ship broke up above the earth,
The world witnessed an angel’s birth.
There is so much technology,
It takes just one anomaly
And then, a shooting star is free,
A star never to return.
And yet, onward we must explore,
For we were born to leave the shore,
Believe there must be something more,
That one day we will discern.
Still in those brilliant sparks of grace,
She found an everlasting place,
The ship broke up above the earth,
The world witnessed an angel’s birth.
Beyond the science and the math
She has now opened up a path,
And it’s alright to cry and laugh,
For we all must take our turn.
And at the precipice of space,
She found the loving arms and face,
That nothing on earth could replace,
The reward that she came to earn.
Still in those brilliant sparks of grace,
She found an everlasting place,
The ship broke up above the earth,
The world witnessed an angel’s birth.
An Angel's Wish
A
n angel's wish
For things we could accomplish,
'Though she was beautiful and kind,
Her wish is for those left behind.
An angel's dream,
It's closer than it might seem,
Onward and upward we must fight
And look above us to the light.
And remember Christina,
She went through so many things,
But it was all for a purpose,
Now, an angel has her wings.
An angel's prayer,
It can never disappear,
Take up the banner she unfurled
Do we what you can to change the world.
An angel's love,
Through the clouds it shines above,
It will be just a little while
Before the day comes to truly smile.
And remember Christina,
She went through so many things,
But it was all for a purpose,
Now, an angel has her wings.
Blackbird into Dawn
T
he trees are rustling,
With the birds awakening,
The dew is glistening,
One bird has taken wing.
A blackbird into dawn
Has left you all to carry on,
To bury what is gone
And to wonder what lies beyond.
A blackbird into dawn,
Spreading his wings upon a song,
‘Though we once loved as one,
We must now greet the rising sun,
I'm sure that you will pray,
Turn your eyes toward yesterday,
Disbelieving as you say,
That we all must go someday.
A blackbird into dawn
Has left you all to carry on,
To bury what is gone,
And to wonder what lies beyond.
A blackbird into dawn,
Spreading his wings upon a song,
‘Though we once loved as one,
We must now greet the rising sun,
But dawn will conquer night
And your tired eyes will lose sight
Of a blackbird's speedy flight,
Through the shadows of the light.
A blackbird into dawn
Has left you all to carry on,
To bury what is gone,
And to wonder what lies beyond.
A blackbird into dawn,
Spreading his wings upon a song,
‘Though we once loved as one,
We must now greet the rising sun.
I’ll Find You
O
ft does a passion fade,
Like the sunset on the seas,
Notes of a concert played
Fall to pieces on the breeze.
How then could we believe
That our vision would survive?
And would it be naïve
To think fledgling birds can thrive?
But we should not be bound by mortality,
Because somehow, we will share a destiny,
And when you leave this life behind you,
If there is any way I can, I’ll find you.
Once in the land of dreams,
Where our spirits learned to fly,
Love shined its colored beams
And that light will never die.
One day the blind will see
And the answer will appear,
Then all eternity,
Will be there for us to share.
But we should not be bound by mortality,
Because somehow, we will share a destiny,
And when you leave this life behind you,
If there is any way I can, I’ll find you.
When the last word is said,
The time comes for us to part,
To a place we’ll be led,
Where two souls make up one heart.
Until that time, I’ll pray
To be in the Father’s grace,
So, we’ll meet again someday
There in his everlasting place.
But we should not be bound by mortality,
Because somehow, we will share a destiny,
And when you leave this life behind you,
If there is any way I can, I’ll find you.
Moths
A
tragic flutter slaps the air,
Persistent creatures are unaware,
Their desire is all they know,
As they’re drawn into the burning glow.
With tears of darkness in their eyes,
A seductive light can tantalize,
They scorch their wings to play the game,
To dance the dance of the candle flame.
It seems not worth the price they pay,
