In this book, you will also find clinical research along with other information about Psychogenic Non-Epileptic Events, the silent illness.

    SEIZURE DISORDERS

    Seizure disorders come in many forms and are often misdiagnosed. There are over 10 million people living with some type of event disorder, or seizure disorder, other than epilepsy. There are many types of seizure disorders, which do not have the same characteristics of a regular seizure since these types are more of a silent type of event. These types of events or attacks are also known as; psychogenic non-epileptic seizures (PNES), psychogenic non-epileptic events (PNEE), non-epileptic events (NEE), pseudo-seizures, and non-epileptic attacks (NEA). Many doctors and specialist are uncomfortable with explaining what NEE is or stands for, when giving a patient a conclusive diagnosis this can often confuse the patient and their families. With no certain diagnosis or taking a chance of being misdiagnosed, usually happen because there is not enough information out there for the doctors or specialist to tell their patients about their seizures or events
