So I have never written a book before and am not sure how to begin.
Ever feel your thoughts are like a runaway monkey?
Okay then, let’s catch my mind by the tail, and off we go.
I have had an adventurous life, it’s true. Some have been like a stand-up comedy act, while others have caused deep pain. I guess that is not unusual for being two-legged.
That is the Native American way of distinguishing humans from animals.
I grew up in an unusual Jewish household. Hebrew school was not happening, and learning about Judaism really began with joy and laughter when I met a most unusual rabbi in 1995. Actually, it was an Italian woman—a hairstylist, no less—who suggested that I become an interfaith minister. And she had just the rabbi for me. It was a divine setup.
So are you wondering how I became an interfaith minister? I am so glad you asked!
As a young girl, I was what you would call a homebody. Yes, I had friends—Lorraine and Dorothy, I remember—and I would have relay races running barefoot with the boy down the block (what was his name?). Wanting to get close to my Pop and loving to watch TV, like him, we would watch together.
