About this ebook

The collection of poems in this book is my view on the turmoil in my land, and the sufferings of my people. I have taken inspiration not only from the troubles of my people but people everywhere facing oppression and tyranny. Words can move mountains, and that is what I hope. My people are less heard of, so this is an attempt to make a difference and make the world hear our plight. I dont advocate or revenge. Words are feelings at a given time, and these poems will help you know how I felt at a moment in time. The only way to vent my anger out. I hope to use these words as a window into the turmoil of my land and other similar cases.

This book is dedicated to all the people who have lost a loved one due to tyranny and oppression.

I would like to thank my parents, my family, Mahsa and my especially my brother without whom this book wouldn’t be a reality.

    The Deception

    They hide behind the veil,

Speak words that are not real,

They cry wolf for all to see,

Yet the shadows believe and not see,

When the day ends and darkness grows,

    They come out and roar,

None to see the faces behind,

For all they do is hide,

    Put aside the daily feud,

    For they are future ruse,

When will the veil be finally lifted?

For I can see now when it isn’t lifted.

    The Grand Illusion

An illusion so great over decades,

People believe as they guess in charades,

Betrayal isn’t a word that comes to mind,

Yet people believe and lies they find,

How long shall hide in darkness,

For truth is burdened by sadness,

    Long lost yet always found,

The truth reminisces beneath the ground.

    The Star

The flame that burns must die out,

The sun will one day die out,

    Its star lest we forget,

For the moon around will one day set,

Not knowing is a crime you see,

For all is known when one wants to
